Canada is a good country to live as a immigrant. However,
(1) some provinces are very cold. In general winter is very cold (-20C, -30C, -40C). The climate of British Colombia province is good (rarely goes below zero). There are millions of people living in cold cities as well. But simply because of cold, we will not get sick. Since the humidity is low compared to sri lanka, it is good for health . My mother and cousin have very bad health in sri lanka ( Pennasa, Sema amaru, Aduma etc), when they came here, they feel better because of low humidity.
(2) Taxes, cost of goods are higher compared to USA (but less than Australia). USA has better powerful economy and goods are low.
(3) multi-cultural is maximum here. Every ware you see people from all over the world from Asia, south america, Russia etc. Ton of Chinese, Philippine and Indian people.
(4) Job situation is relatively steady.
(5) Unlike in europe and Uk, there is lot of space here. I personally do not like to live in very crowded areas. You can afford a house with some land without much difficulty and there are "unlimited space" here to develop real state.
