[FONT=&quot]ඔන්න යාලුවනෙ මමත් [/FONT][FONT=&quot]IELTS [/FONT][FONT=&quot]කරන්න පටන් ගත්ත[/FONT], [FONT=&quot]exam[/FONT][FONT=&quot] එක ගැන ඉන්ටෙර්නෙට් එකෙ හොයද්දි මට ඉගෙන ගන්න හම්බුන මම [/FONT][FONT=&quot]note[/FONT][FONT=&quot] කරගත්ත දෙවල් ටිකක් ඔයලාත් එක්ක බෙදාගන්න හිතුන[/FONT] [FONT=&quot]ඇත්තටම මේව මට නම් ගොඩක් ප්‍රොයොජනවත් උනා. ඔයලත් කියවලම බලන්නකො. [/FONT]
[FONT=&quot]ඔයාලගෙත් අදහස් තියනව නම් මේකට එකතු කරන්න. ඊන්ගිරීසියෙන්ම දැම්ම ඔන්න [/FONT]

Listening

• [FONT=&quot]Concentrate !!![/FONT]

• [FONT=&quot]Guess the information needed to complete[/FONT]

[FONT=&quot] eg. place, name, date, no.[/FONT]

• [FONT=&quot]Circle/Underline the key words in questions[/FONT]

[FONT=&quot] eg. Where did they go?[/FONT]

• [FONT=&quot]If you miss don't panic keep moving to the next question[/FONT]

• [FONT=&quot]Read the question before starting the section[/FONT]

• [FONT=&quot]Utilize the check answer time at the end of a section to read next questions[/FONT]

• [FONT=&quot]Learn to differentiate well similar sounding words eg. 16/60 , 15/50[/FONT]

• [FONT=&quot]Pay attention to final statement. Ignore contradictions.[/FONT]

[FONT=&quot] eg. person 1 : How did you come to work today?[/FONT]
[FONT=&quot] person 2 : by bus.[/FONT]
[FONT=&quot] Person 2 : No wait! I'm sorry that was actually yesterday , today I took the train.[/FONT]

[FONT=&quot] Question : how does person 2 came to work today?[/FONT]
[FONT=&quot] Answer : bus train[/FONT]

• [FONT=&quot]Ready for sentences which are alternate ways of expression or answering[/FONT]

[FONT=&quot] eg. person 1 : When will you go to Colombo?[/FONT]
[FONT=&quot] person 2 : I'm planing to go there the day before Friday[/FONT]

[FONT=&quot] Question : When will person 2 go to Colombo?[/FONT]
[FONT=&quot] Answer : Friday Thursday[/FONT]

• [FONT=&quot]Work on your vocabulary , listen to pod casts / Radio Shows and try to transcribe.(active listening) [/FONT]

• [FONT=&quot]Answer every question - if there are empty spaces at last try to guess and fill them[/FONT]

Reading

• [FONT=&quot]Actively Read[/FONT]

  • [FONT=&quot]Write a mini summary in margins (2-3 words perhaps)[/FONT]
  • [FONT=&quot]Draw vertical lines in front of important passages[/FONT]

• [FONT=&quot]Make reading a routine, keep in touch with it[/FONT]

  • [FONT=&quot]What's been said in detail[/FONT]
  • [FONT=&quot]Whats of it? important? relevant?[/FONT]

• [FONT=&quot]Read different articles and get the main points, main ideas of different articles[/FONT]

• [FONT=&quot]Foresee: have a look at the question and predict the text[/FONT]

• [FONT=&quot]Once found the paragraph which contain the answer do an analytical reading[/FONT]

• [FONT=&quot]If you don't know a word try to guess it by surrounding words[/FONT]

• [FONT=&quot]Get used to some reading techniques[/FONT]

• • [FONT=&quot]Finger pull (drag your finger with each line you read)[/FONT]
  • [FONT=&quot]skimming (read skipping words)[/FONT]

• [FONT=&quot]When answering use scanning - Do not look only for exact words look for synonyms too[/FONT]

• [FONT=&quot]try to avoid 1st or 2nd introductory sentences.[/FONT]

• [FONT=&quot]If you can't find an answer just skip it and answer others , do not get stuck [/FONT]

• [FONT=&quot]Go back review , read answers at the end on whatever the remaining time.[/FONT]

• [FONT=&quot]Do Practice tests. also learn to manage time as you practice.[/FONT]

Writing

• [FONT=&quot]Organize your essay - write a small summary. Paragraph well (probably 4)[/FONT]

• [FONT=&quot]Support your arguments. give examples. [/FONT]

• [FONT=&quot]Give a topic to your essay.[/FONT]

• [FONT=&quot]Do the 2nd part first as it carries more marks[/FONT]

• [FONT=&quot]Be more specific to question - if question have key points cover all of them[/FONT]

• [FONT=&quot]Improve Grammar knowledge[/FONT]

• [FONT=&quot]Have a someone check what you have written and identify weak points[/FONT]

• [FONT=&quot]Do not misspell words. Do spell check tests/games.[/FONT]

• [FONT=&quot]check your essay after writing. Check for punctuation, spelling, plural/simple[/FONT]

• [FONT=&quot]Mange your time well.[/FONT]

• [FONT=&quot]Continue writing essays and improve skill[/FONT]

• [FONT=&quot]First focus on quality of essays you can practice speed later[/FONT]

Speaking

• [FONT=&quot]Speak Coherently! (speak very clearly like you understand what you say and also matching to the question)[/FONT]

• [FONT=&quot]listen to native speakers speaking[/FONT]

• [FONT=&quot]If you could, speak with an accent[/FONT]

• [FONT=&quot]Try covering all the points that are asked for speech. write down key words[/FONT]

• [FONT=&quot]Stay on topic all the time[/FONT]

• [FONT=&quot]Use colloquialisms (appropriate ones)[/FONT]

• [FONT=&quot]Practice speaking longer than 2 minutes[/FONT]

• [FONT=&quot]answer clearly and summarize at the end[/FONT]

• [FONT=&quot]Use transitions eg. how ever, on the other hand[/FONT]

• [FONT=&quot]Make up things you don't know[/FONT]
• [FONT=&quot]work on pronunciation[/FONT]
• [FONT=&quot]Find friends who are also doing IELTS and practice speaking[/FONT]

intakes are on Feb/March and July/Aug.. don't register at the end of year..all local a/l plus bachelor students get registered at the latter part of year..mokada eh okkoma courses iwara wenne sep wala. hodama kale thamai February/March/April/June/July/August
