This is not to make fun of anybody or to make light of anyone's life situation. But at the rate things are going, Sub-Saharan Africa will surpass Sri Lanka when it comes to things that matter. Maybe then, the less enlightened among us will finally realise what they once had and gave up for a 'venasa.' Watura na, kaema na, light na, salli na, andum na, raekiyaa na... kamak na... Mahinda gedara ne. Let us wish Sub-Saharan Africa the best, at least their leaders seem more competent than our own.
Please open your eyes and look around you, Sri Lanka is sliding backwards, about to be hung, drawn and quartered by the USA and India with their puppets in power and their agendas to fulfill. Our ancestors fought long and hard, endured so many trials and tribulations for more than two thousand years to maintain our independence and our identity and our freedom. We're now failing them terribly; stabbed in the back by our own, so to speak.
Yahapalanaya is taking Sri Lanka back into the bad old days when nothing worked and Sri Lanka was stuck in what seemed like an endless purgatory. There is no silver lining here. Only darkness and gloom. We cannot let this sunless future be our destiny.
