Thanks for that, I was looking at getting 2 of these units (http://www.obihai.com/docs/OBi110DS.pdf) and install one in SL and the other in Aust. What do you think will that work?

Uplink for this FXS box is 10 base T ethernet, hence you cannot directly uplink it to a pstn. If you directly connect it to a data network your SIP phones will not register due to port 5060 being blocked. You can try to connect it through a router & create tunnels in router with remote end to encapsulate SIP & RTP . But eventhough you mark your traffic as DSCP ef, once it hits service provider's cloud, they usually re mark your traffic to a lower QoS value which can make your calls sound jittery.

But if you purchase 2 SIP lines from any service provider, you can achieve this task easily & port 5060 will not be clocked by SP

Machan, the OBI110 has a FXO port to connect a PSTN line so I was hoping to connect to OBI110 using OBItalk network and bridge the call to the FXO port.

yes, this is possible, you can try by connecting fxo port directly to pstn. probably this is your best shot

what about qos? still you are getting best effort qos (tos 0 / dscp 0) where you ideally need tos 5 or dscp ef for rtp / sip traffic
