Dialog SLT lage submarine cables welin ne kalin giye. Dan eegolla wenama submarine cable system ekakata connect wela!

Anyone know what this really means? Will it make our connections faster? Will they be able to give more data?

It's BBG cable. It connect Singapore to Oman in west. It connects at a speed of 100gbps. But lacks connectivity to Europe unless any other cable is used from Oman or fugira. This cable ends dominance of SLT cables in the country for internet and communication connectivity. BUt SLt will come up with SEMEWE5 cable by the end of the year, which has much bigger capacity and connect Europe, Sri Lanka and Singapore. It has a full landin station as against a branch of BBG.

Both these cables will increase capacity and redundancy for Internet and communication connectivity.

I do not think of a big change as the biggest cost component in Internet comes from the investment in the local access network. Operating costs of local access network is comparatively higher than the international connectivity.

ලොකු වෙනසක් වෙන එකක් නැහැ. ඔය බෙංගාල් cable system එක connect වෙන පැති වලට latency එහෙම අඩු වෙයි(ෂුවර් එකටම දන්නේ නැ- ටිකක් හොයල බලන්න ඕන) . ඕක ඉතින් secondary path එකක් විදියට use කරයි. ඒ cable එක 10G කියල ඉතින් අපිට ඕක කුට්ටි පිටින් හම්බෙන් නැ. කේබල් එකේ bandwidth එක 10G වුනාට ඉතින් local connection එච්චර දෙන්නේ නැනෙ.
