Exterior
When talking about the exterior of the Renault KWID, there are much to talk about since the predecessor 2015 version was had few criticism from the auto mobile community. However lets just say things just got a lot better than 2015 version of the Renault KWID.
The mini-SUV look is the greatest advantage this car has over other cars in this segment. The bonnet and the buffer has been kept the same maintaining its fabulous look-to-look like a mini-Vezel. (no-kwidding)
As you can see the front grill of the car is giving it a premium look over other cars in this segment. The front and rear bumpers are a key factor for its jeep / suv looks. The muzzled bonnet ads a prestige’s look to the entire vehicle. The adjustable headlights give a great support when driving in the hill country. The RXT (O) also comes with fog lights in the front.
Being bigger and longer and higher than all the other vehicles in its segment, the KWID does a better job-avoiding clash on speed bumpers and curves hitting its bottom.
You must have noticed the huge gap in between wheels and the chassis. Actually this gives a real advantage under certain geographic and whether conditions. It certainly does a better job in handling suspension.
Rear lights and the little spoiler like hoody makes it sportier just like the Vezel.
Full-accessorized KWID
Side view is also good as it clearly separates the KWID from the other vehicles in the segment.
Remote key is available and if you use something else other than the original key to power on the vehicle, the engine will be shutdown automatically.
Most of the cars in this segment come with 13R tires and the kwid is no exception. If you have noticed, the wheels only consist of 3 nuts fixed to the axel of the car. Some of you will find this devastating, however this can be a good thing when you want to change a flat. If you already own this car, you will have to wait at least another 2 month for buying alloy wheels for the vehicle as AMW has not ordered them for now.
If you have noticed there are 2 black fiber stickers in both sides of the vehicle. These are not just stickers. These are for fixing the side cladding. When those are fixed the vehicle just look more amazing than before.
I got to admit that the door handles are not up to the standards. Even with the chrome accessory pack door handles looks so 80’s. I would like these changed in the 2017 model.
Another missing feature is to be able to control the mirrors with a push of a button (power mirrors). What can I say; you cannot expect all the features for this price tag. However there are unofficial rumors that this will be available in the 2017 version.
The windscreen bay is open and when I inquired about this from the Renault Sri Lanka, they said that they requested to close this down for the vehicles that shipped to Sri Lanka. So we might see this in the 2016 version in the near future (fingers crossed).
Whether shields and all other accessories should be purchased separately.
Few of the major accessories are,
Roof Rails:
Side Cladding
Different Grills
More
