Mourinho 'really confident' about Pogba move

    3472232_heroa.jpg

Jose Mourinho has revealed that he is "really confident" that Manchester United will be able to sign the players that he wants, as a move for Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba edges closer.

Speaking to the press in Shanghai ahead of the International Champions Cup match with Borussia Dortmund on Friday, the United boss could not confirm the signing of Pogba but indicated his calmness that deals would be completed.

“I don’t confirm and I don’t deny. I cannot tell you! First of all because I don’t think it’s correct to speak about players of other clubs, and he is a Juventus player not a Man United player," he said.

“The only thing I can say is that my board, my directors did fantastic work to do 75 per cent of the job I asked them to do. I gave them four profiles of players we need, and I gave them a few options, and they did for me 75 per cent of the job with Ibrahimovic, Mkhitaryan and Bailly.

“And we have just 25 per cent to do until 31 August so we are in great conditions to have what I would consider a good market.

“So we are calm, we know the profile of player we want. We have three faces that fill that profile and I’m really confident that [Ed] Woodward and the owners will bring me that profile of player that I think the squad needs to have a good balance.”

United officials have agreed a €110m fee to bring Pogba back to Old Trafford, and confirmation of a completed deal could come in the next 48 hours.
Pogba won four successive Serie A titles and two Coppa Italia crowns with Juventus having left United in 2012. He looks set to return on a five-year contract worth around €65 million.

Allardyce the 'right person' for England job - Mourinho

    2413642_heroa.jpg

Jose Mourinho believes Sam Allardyce is the “right person” for the job of England manager, and has wished him good luck in ending the Three Lions’ long trophy drought.

The Football Association is set to confirm Sunderland boss Allardyce as Roy Hodgson’s successor on Thursday, and, speaking in Shanghai ahead of his club’s involvement in the International Champions Cup, the Manchester United manager backed Allardyce to succeed in the role which to many has become a poisoned chalice.

“You are a complicated country for the person that gets the job! I think he’s the right person for that. I think he’s a good choice but I think he needs support,” Mourinho said.“I think you can do better in respect of that, because my experience in your country shows me that in the football world you could do a bit better.

“I think Sam has never had the big chance at the highest level, lots of experience in the Premier League but never that big one. But now he has the big one, so I think he is more than ready. I think he is a good motivator, I think he can create a good team spirit with his players.

“I wish him all the best. From my side, not just as a friend but as a Man United manager, the only thing I can promise is that I will try to support him in the best way, preparing the players for him, trying to have the English players available in good conditions to help him, and I hope he can do the same.”

The Portuguese boss added that it is high time England won a major trophy again following the solo success of the 1966 World Cup, even drawing parallels with his own nation’s first international title at Euro 2016.

“It is your time, you know! In Portugal we were waiting and waiting and finally we got it. I think it’s time for you because 66 was a long time ago. So good luck, Big Sam.”

    OFFICIAL: Borussia Dortmund re-sign Gotze

    mario-gotze_lirakf1t197913pd2g1s5sr1a.jpg

Borussia Dortmund have announced the signing of Mario Gotze from Bayern Munich.

The Germany international, who scored the winning goal in the 2014 World Cup final, had previously left Dortmund for the Bavarians but has now re-joined Thomas Tuchel's side.

Gotze departed the club in somewhat acrimonious circumstances in 2013, having scored 31 goals in 116 matches for the club after his debut in 2008.

Some fans subsequently claimed that the 24-year-old would not be welcomed back to the club, but the deal has now been confirmed by both sides, with Gotze signing a four-year contract until 2020.

The attacking midfielder has also apologised to fans for his move to Bayern, and insists he will work hard to regain their trust, telling the club's official website: "When I switched from BVB to Bayern in 2013 that was a conscious decision that I will not hide myself behind today.

"Three years later, and at 24, I look with different eyes at my decision. I can well understand that many fans could not understand my decision. I would not even take it today!
"When I return to my home, I want to try to convince all people with my performances - especially those who will not receive me with open arms. My aim is to again play my best football. For all of us, the club and the BVB fans. "

Gotze struggled for game time at the Allianz Arena, and made just 14 Bundesliga appearances last term.

'No deal done yet' for Pogba, says Raiola

    3383112_heroa.jpg

Manchester United do not yet have a deal in place to sign Paul Pogba from Juventus, claims agent Mino Raiola.

Pogba's future has developed into the biggest transfer story of the summer, with United leading the chase for the midfielder while Real Madrid also keen to land him.

Goal understands that United have reached an agreement to re-sign Pogba, who left the Red Devils in 2012 to join Juventus, for a world-record fee in the region of €110m.

However, Pogba's representative Raiola has since taken to Twitter to claim that no club has triggered a deal to sign Pogba at this stage.

Raiola wrote on Twitter: “There is no deal done regarding Paul Pogba, lots of bla bla bla.”
United boss Jose Mourinho revealed earlier on Thursday that he is “really confident” the club's hierarchy will deliver the players he has asked for, amid speculation Pogba is close to sealing a return to Old Trafford.

Mourinho wants to land four priority signings ahead of the new Premier League season, with Pogba viewed as the final addition following the arrivals of Eric Bailly, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Henrikh Mkhitaryan already this summer.

No Arsenal offer for Arda - he won't leave Barcelona

    arda-turan-barcelona-01062016_eq2slznf3qic1xrhlyaj4njgc.jpg

Arsenal have not shown an interest in signing Arda Turan and his agent has told Goal that the Barcelona star will be staying at Camp Nou next season.

The 29-year-old has been heavily linked with a move away from the Catalan giants after playing just 810 minutes in the league last season but he is now said to be focused on forcing his way into the Barcelona starting XI ahead of another crucial campaign.

Reports in the British press on Wednesday claimed that Gunners boss Arsene Wenger wanted the Turkey star to play in a midfield three alongside Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez.

However, on Thursday his agent denied those reports, declaring that Arda is looking forward to the upcoming campaign with Barcelona."No, I haven't heard anything from Arsenal. Arda will be staying at Barcelona", Ahmed Bulut told Goal.

Arda, who scored 22 goals and notched 32 assists for Atletico Madrid before joining Barcelona for €34 million, has a long-term deal with Luis Enrique's side and Barcelona president Josep Maria Bartomeu recently thanked him and team-mate Aleix Vidal "for the patience they showed to go six months without being able to play".

'It's a dream come true' - Morata preparing for life back at Real Madrid

    alvaro-morata-cropped_16ww4wan3pbjb1o1nzik1huevv.jpg

Alvaro Morata claims he has realised a dream by sealing a transfer back to Real Madrid from Juventus.

The Spain international, who left for the Serie A champions in 2014, moved back to the Santiago Bernabeu last month after Madrid activated their €30million buy-back option.

Reports continue to link Morata with a subsequent transfer to Chelsea, but the 23-year-old says he is relishing the prospect of working under Zinedine Zidane at the club he joined as a youth player in 2008.

"It is incredible to be here again," he told Madrid's official website, ahead of his arrival for a pre-season training camp in Montreal. "It is a dream come true and I can't wait to get started.

"I can't wait for tomorrow to arrive so we can get to work. Zidane works hard and does a lot of physical work. I have had two great years at Juventus, I learned a lot and I can only be thankful because without this experience I would not be here."

Team-mate Lucas Vazquez, who enjoyed a breakthrough campaign under Zidane last season, is already looking ahead to the UEFA Super Cup clash with Sevilla next month as Madrid look to start 2016-17 with a trophy."I'm going into this season feeling motivated and excited," he said. "I am in great shape and cannot wait to get started.

"We are now focusing on the UEFA Super Cup. We need to be in great shape and work hard in order to win it. The holidays always go quickly, but I'm excited to get started and very happy to be here."

'Van Persie is not for sale!' - Fenerbahce rule out summer move for striker

    obin-van-persie-cropped_mngkjduj0seg1anc6uzj7x3yy.jpg

Fenerbahce have released a statement insisting that the prospect of selling Robin van Persie is "out of the question".The former Arsenal and Manchester United striker has been linked with a return to the Premier League, with Stoke City among the clubs reported to be interested.

Fenerbahce, however, are adamant that the Netherlands international - who turns 33 next month - will be staying in Istanbul."In recent days, there have been so many rumours in the media about Robin van Persie leaving Fenerbahce," the statement read.

"These speculations are not true. After a meeting with the player's agent, Van Persie's transfer to any other club is out of the question."Van Persie has struggled for consistent form since joining Fenerbahce from United last year.

He scored 16 goals in 31 appearances as they finished second to champions Besiktas in the Super Lig.

Marco Reus has been confirmed as the star who will be on the cover of EA Sports video game FIFA 17.

A massive 3.1 million votes were cast by fans over a two week period, to decide who would be the face of the latest edition of the popular football game, with Real Madrid's James Rodriguez, Anthony Martial of Manchester United, Chelsea star Eden Hazard and the Borussia Dortmund attacker being the contenders.

And it was Reus, set to wear the captain's armband for Dortmund next term, who emerged victorious and spoke of his delight at earning his place on the cover.
“I’m honored to join a very distinguished group of footballers to appear on the cover of FIFA,” said Reus.

OFFICIAL: Barcelona to sign Andre Gomes

    3439782_heroa.jpg

Barcelona have announced an agreement with Valencia to sign Portuguese midfielder Andre Gomes.

Gomes has spent two seasons in La Liga following his move from Benfica in July 2014.The 22-year-old played a part as Portugal claimed a fairytale Euro 2016 success with their final win over France.

Reports suggest Barcelona paid €40million for Gomes, who made 30 appearances and scored three goals in the league last season.A 13-time Portugal international, Gomes was apparently also a target for Barca's fierce rivals Real Madrid.

He is set to become the latest signing for Luis Enrique in the transfer window, with the head coach having added the likes of Samuel Umtiti, Lucas Digne and Denis Suarez to his squad this off-season.It presents another significant blow for Madrid, who have seemingly missed out on Paul Pogba.

The France international has plenty of admirers at the Santiago Bernabeu, but reports suggest they are unable to meet his valuation with Manchester United the apparent front-runners for his signature.

    :D:)Mourinho: Ibrahimovic's body is amazing

    ibrahimovic_1w0gqphoy0ri1vr7iw9c1z9ju.jpg

Jose Mourinho has no doubts that Zlatan Ibrahimovic can succeed at Manchester United, insisting he is in good shape as "his body is amazing". The former Sweden international signed for the Premier League side on a free transfer after his contract at Paris Saint-Germain came to an end.

The 34-year-old has succeeded in the Eredivisie, Serie A, La Liga and Ligue 1 throughout an incredible career, but is preparing for his first season in the English top flight. And Mourinho says Ibrahimovic is highly motivated and in good shape ahead of the challenge that awaits him, insisting he would not have convinced him to move to Old Trafford otherwise.

“Let’s be honest, Ibrahimovic is very rich,” Mourinho said. “He’s made money all his career, he’s won a lot of things, so you only come to the most difficult championship in the world if you feel you can do it.“If you don’t feel you can do it, you go to America, China or stay in the French league one more season.

“So the guy wanted this one more challenge. When I told him that I had won in England, Spain and Italy and he hadn’t, that he’d done Spain, Italy and France, he thought, ‘Ahh, I want to go. I want to win every one.’“So his motivation is high and his body is amazing.“On Sunday, he is going to start a specific programme we have prepared before he joins our group on the Thursday, so he has five days just for him.”

The Portuguese coach has no concerns over the advanced age of the striker, insisting that his body and brain are of a much younger man.“First of all, I know him very well. I always think there’s our age in ID terms but then there’s our real age," he added.

“For me, the real age is not the age on your ID. That’s just a date when you were born. The real age is your body, your brain, your attitude and this guy is young, his body is amazing.

“The way he grew up playing the sports he did before football, especially martial arts, he was prepared in terms of his muscles and the mental point of view in a different way to the traditional football player, his DNA, his motivation.“I expect he is going to be very good for us.”

United have fallen dramatically since Sir Alex Ferguson's reign in charge came to an end. While the iconic manager's successors, David Moyes and Louis van Gaal, have been heavily criticised, the playing staff have not been immune from it, but Mourinho believes there is a lot of quality in the team and feels Ibrahimovic adds important leadership of the squad.“Sometimes people say the team has no leaders, it’s this, it’s that, but what we need is everybody with the same kind of mentality," the ex-Chelsea boss said. "I like communication and push them to communicate.

“I give a lot of instruction in training. It’s difficult for me to do the same in matches so I need guys on the pitch to read the game, to understand what we want.
“Zlatan is going to be one of them and I feel already that we have guys to do the same. I don’t think we’re going to have a problem at that level.

“We have lots of quality. When I see our group in the attacking area – Zlatan, Marcus Rashford, Wayne Rooney, Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Juan Mata, all the wingers we have, I think we have lots of quality in attack to produce good football and score goals.”

    International Champions Cup

Manchester United 1 Vs 4 BVB

    :(

patta match eka :D once again shows how bad the English Premier League is.

Dortmund were running circles around Utd in the first half. Possession over 60%

But got to admit that dortmind were much prepared for this than utd.
They'll have a great upcoming season. Will be tough for Bayern.

Specially with the frontal attack of Reus, Auba, schurrle & Gotze
And the youngsters are superb too.

    Spcially Demble & Emre Mor.

As for Utd they have such a huge squad but not many are living to their potential
Spcially Lingaard & Depay. I think there will be a couple of transfers out of the club pretty soon.

Conte targets Champions League with Chelsea

    antonioconte-cropped_mhakj0p6v6xb1rp7b948wda7a.jpg

Chelsea coach Antonio Conte is targeting a return to the Champions League this season, describing the competition as the club's "home".

The former Italy boss took over at Stamford Bridge after Euro 2016 and his team have made a mixed start to pre-season, losing to Rapid Vienna before beating Wolfsberger and Atus Ferlach.

Under Jose Mourinho and then Guus Hiddink, Chelsea battled to a 10th-place finish in the Premier League last season. However, Conte is keen to see them rise quickly – eyeing a top-four finish in the upcoming campaign.

"I want our fans to be very proud about the players and the manager, it's very important," he said."Usually when there are these bad seasons it means there are many problems but the past is not important for me, for the club, for the players.

"What is important is the present, we have to fight together to come back and fight for the title. It's important to stay together and overcome this bad period for Chelsea, to come back to play the Champions League, because it's Chelsea's home."

Conte has added the likes of N'Golo Kante and Michy Batshuayi to his squad in the summer and the Italian has urged his team to give their all as they bid to return to the top-four.Conte said: "We must work a lot.

"We come after a bad season, after a 10th-place [finish] and we need to come back very soon in the right position because Chelsea is a great team in England and in the world."We must come back to fight for the title."

Mourinho: Rooney will be an important player

    hd-wayne-rooney_bj78mgv6fr11veetp25nogwd.jpg

Jose Mourinho has assured Wayne Rooney of his future at Manchester United, insisting the club captain will remain an important figure in his squad.

Having already promised that Rooney will never play in midfield under him, Mourinho again faced questions about the England international's future at Old Trafford following the club's arrival in China for the International Champions Cup, much to the Portuguese manager's dismay."I am quite surprised with so many question marks around this guy," he said in Shanghai.

"I know that at the national team level you have this capacity of trying to make things complicated for yourself, so what happened around him in the summer was not a surprise for me."But in my club we are not going to have that. He is the club captain, he is the manager's captain, he is the players' captain.

"I trust him a lot. I think he's going to be a very important player for me and no problem for him."However, Mourinho insists that the armband does not guarantee Rooney a starting place alone.

"He knows that he has to work hard, he knows that but I think that is nothing new in his career. Everything he got I see nobody offer him, he had to fight for it," he said.

"With me it is not going to be different. But, yes, he is my captain."
