Dear all,
I have been closely following all the Renault KWID threads in this forum which most of them have discussed the safety aspects of the Renault KWID.
But since none of them discussed the pathetic Renault Gangaramaya showroom customer service, here's a new thread to all those 1800 odd customers Renault showroom staff claim to have booked the vehicle as of now and are awaiting delivery.
First I would like to confess that although I was excited about buying this vehicle at the time of reservation, that enthusiasm has only dwindled after reading comments/complaints on the vehicle.
Also the positive comments made by a guy called Shan in the forum, has also made me as a potential customer, more suspicious, more jittery to own the vehicle mainly because first the suspicion is 1. he might be one of the marketers from AMW 2. If he is infact attached to AMW why is he making that extra pinch to sell the vehicle since, if the product is good, it will sell on its own by word of mouth.
Fortunately or unfortunately, I also booked the car in early part of June and was informed at the time I made a reservation, the car will only be delivered at the end of JANUARY 2017 or even later. So I was readying up my finances to meet the delivery time.
Suddenly, on 3rd August 2016 (FIVE MONTHS EARLIER THAN SCHEDULE) AMW has sent SMS to many customers saying the vehicle has arrived and is in the Port and advising to keep the finances in check. They have also said once payment is made, they will need at least two weeks for them to deliver the vehicle.
This is one of their first batches of vehicle and in my FIRST IMPRESSION is they have only DISAPPOINTED by making a false promise.
The other issue is that though they pledged the vehicle price at the time of booking to be say for Eg: RXTO (21.60), they are now saying that price will increase by about 40-50K!! This they say is because of the change in USD rate.
When a customer request for a cancellation and ask for a refund their reply is a PLAIN NO and asking us to read the terms and conditions at the bottom of the booking receipt.
If the customer then requests whether they could transfer the vehicle to a potential buyer's name before the vehicle is registered with RMV (FIRST OWNER), again its a NO saying they can only release the vehicle on the name of the person the reservation was made. If anyone checked Ikman yesterday, you would notice that there are about five advertisements to sell the vehicle already even before the customer has the vehicle.
All because of this mess up I believe. FIRST IMPRESSION, HUGE FAIL!
