We're writing to let you know that Skrill will no longer be an option for withdrawing funds from Upwork beginning April 24, 2017.

After a thorough review, we've determined that Skrill's product, pricing, and customer support to our freelancers do not consistently meet the standards we require of our payment partners. We apologize for the inconvenience but are dedicated to providing you with other cost-effective and convenient ways to receive your money.

One of these is Direct to Local Bank, newly available for freelancers in Sri Lanka. With this option, you can send your earnings to your local bank account in LKR for only $0.99 per withdrawal. It's the most efficient way to receive your money in your local currency. You can set it up in your Get Paid settings by clicking "Add a Payment Method" and selecting Direct to Local Bank.

Since you currently have PayPal on file as a payment method, we'll automatically default it as your primary method on April 24, 2017 unless you specify otherwise. Please note that starting March 20, 2017 transfers to PayPal will be $2.

Freelancing income sources were made taxable at last gvt budget proposals:sorry: - applicable from April 2017 onwards as I can remember. Getting money directly to local bank account will expose your income to inland revenue.
