I think their doing lot of promotions because of Sri Lanka airlines direct flight to Melbourne, its good chance to ausi tourist to come here, just only 10h flight and total different experience

Yes true, they should fly to Sydney too. They should promote flights from Aussi to Europe with a stopover in SL.

i think Melbourne is only 75% 80% is the capacity... and not going to profitable direct Sydney, i think Quantas is having code sharing to Sydney and no issue on it...

Except UK other EU routes are not profitable because more competition with less rates
