This could be due to the ageing of the monitor... But there is an internal adjustment for Horizontal width.
If it's within the adjustable range, easy job. But if it involves replacing parts of the horizontal scanning system - forget it and go for a new LCD panel. Not worth to spend on an 11 year old CRT.
