Because you'll have to wait like 4 months after the premier for that and some idiot will spoil the movie for you within that time or you'll spoil it yourself while browsing the internet.

No it's more than just watching a movie. Ofcourse anybody can buy a DVD/bluray or download a movie and watch on TV but it won't be as same as watching it on a massive sceeen. To watch so at home we should have at least a 85" tv with a home theater system which costs millions. Having non HD contents in Sri Lankan channels also will be of no use owning a tv that big or even a 65" one. So going to a cinema is still the best way to watch movies. It's a rare and a different kind of ආතල්.

A review video of India's Palazzo IMAX published 5 months ago mentioned, the prices there were low and for a 3D movie the ticket price is like 360 Indian rupees. So converted to Sri Lankan rupees its Rs 930/- So roughly a movie ticket here will go above that. Minimum we could expect is Rs 1000/-
Let's hope it won't exceed 2000 bucks.
