MBUX is claimed to be best in the industry at the moment, I like the twin 12.5" screens I got them in my current E class but it hasn't got the MBUX so time for a change.

I don't think this is quite true. You must get a permit from the Controller of Imports prior to importation. There is a provision under No Foreign exchange involved basis to obtain import permission.

A person known to me once sent a car in a container and it nearly got confiscated. Since he had contacts with the Minister he was able to clear it on the basis of ignorance.

There is no duty waiver... You have to pay the current customs duty payable under normal circumstances. AFAIK there's absolutely no difference.
