DUDE, nothing wrong with your motherboard or battery I believe.
But its your power jack endpoint and the Female power port in your laptop needs to be checked if it fits tight and stays connected. I believe the Power port needs to be checked by a technician or get yourself a another suitable power cable and jack it in and see if it gives you the same result.
I too have same problems with HP Compaq 602 laptop. While doing some work the power gets switched off suddenly. At startup it goes into sudden power failure. I do not have the battery fitted in the laptop. Sometimes it does not startup at all. Some times i did not fit the Jack into the Port properly. The Power Jack or the Power port or the Power adapter may have got wasted. Check your electrical plugs and base too. most importantly.
