For the first time on Friday, China disclosed figures that drive home the risks faced by those on the front line: 1,716 medical workers have contracted the virus and six of them have died. Of those people, 1,502 were in Hubei Province, with 1,102 of them in Wuhan, the provincial capital and the center of the outbreak.

I think now they don't have any option than revealing the truth because they need support from other countries.

True... Coronaviruses are primarily respiratory and hence it's the lungs that get mostly affected.
However, the human body is an interconnected system. Even if the virus does not get into the liver or the kidneys, it can still affect these organs. In any case when you have the virus in the bloodstream it goes into the liver & kidneys.

The liver basically filters the blood and it was noted that some of the SARS patients had liver failure, but the primary cause of death was lung and the kidneys.

Like the liver the kidney also filters the blood using distilling units knows as the nephrons. These gets inflamed and if further deteriorates into a serious state, can lead to renal failure.
About 6 percent of SARS patients had acute renal failure.

This was suspected and known for quite some time. Didn't mention it as it is still hearsay.
But the estimate is based on the insider information from 8 crematoriums in Wuhan. In the absence of truth anything goes and also disinformation becomes the news.

Also there was a recent news of an on-line order for a huge quantity of body bags. Another news item said two large dress making chains have been switched to manufacture non standard items. Things do not look good but I haven't seen solid evidence.

The CCP were planning to get rid of pets as they are a waste of resources for others. So probably they are using the Virus for their benefit.
Insiders from China say this applies to dissdents too. They round up those who talk against them and put them in the quarantine so that they get infected and probably die.

I should say that some of the disinformation gets passed from HongKong and Taiwanese sources. So we don't know whether it's really the truth.
