You certainly can... Privatise the Government. Only need six or less top administrators to run this country. NONE should be of SriLankan origin. Pay top Dollar and recruit from outside. Far cheaper than maintaining a whole bunch of certified thieves, rascals, idiots, drug runners etc,
The system will run far better. Our people do not do a proper job because of the system. Once you straighten the system they will change.

Well there is no law forcing the president to reconvene the former parliament either

hence the gridlock

And then why Lieutenant General Silva? He faces still unresolved charges by the UNHRC and many human rights organizations, under his command responsibility during the war, of massacring tens of thousands of Tamils. As a Tamil, I am scared of arguing with him on 20 April when we meet.

I am sure that's the only way that we could ever come up. Look at what a mess we are in now.
It will be a far bigger mess with a 2/3. A healthy democracy needs a healthy opposition. With an absolute majority we fell in to a bigger mess once. It will be disastrous the next. We have no hope.

I am sure that's the only way that we could ever come up. Look at what a mess we are in now.

i think we are miles ahead compared to some countries we thought are democratic heavens. so there's something about our system that helped manage the situation better dont u think?
perhaps being less democratic is the best way to face situations like this.
centralized governments can do things that would require lengthy chains of approval in an overly democratic system.

i think we are miles ahead compared to some countries we thought are democratic heavens. so there's something about our system that helped manage the situation better dont u think?
perhaps being less democratic is the best way to face situations like this.

democracy isn't always the best ruling method although most of the countries use it

No, unless SC somehow rule the dissolution to be unconstitutional (which is highly unlikely) SC can't instruct president on how to exercise his executive powers which people of the republic gave him.
