The ex-Spain playmaker, 34, will play his 309th and last Premier League match for City against Norwich on Sunday.

Silva, who has won four Premier League titles, has enjoyed one of the great careers of the modern English game.

"When I look back at everything, I could never in my wildest dreams have imagined what I would achieve," he said.

Silva has scored 60 Premier League goals since joining City from Valencia in 2010, winning the FA Cup twice and the EFL Cup five times.

He hopes to end his time with the club in the best way possible, by winning the Champions League in Lisbon in August.

Asked what advice he would have offered himself on joining City if he knew what he knows now, Silva said: "I would tell him to do things in the same way I have."

Following the departures of Yaya Toure, Pablo Zabaleta, Joe Hart and Vincent Kompany, Silva is the latest central component of City's 2012 title-winning squad - their first champions in 44 years - to leave the club.

Of that group, only striker Sergio Aguero will remain once Silva leaves.

Silva's final league game will be at an empty stadium because of coronavirus restrictions, but he has been assured by manager Pep Guardiola of an invite back to Manchester when fans can return, so the playmaker can receive a proper farewell.

He has won 11 major honours during the most successful period in City's history.

"When you are young, you don't dream about all of this," Silva said. "You [just] dream about becoming a professional and playing in the top flight."

Last August, Guardiola described Silva as "one of the best players I've ever seen" - yet even though he earned 125 caps for Spain and helped them to two European Championship titles and the 2010 World Cup, he only won the Premier League's player of the month award once in a decade. He has been named in the PFA team of the year twice.

Not that he seems too bothered about the lack of personal honours in England.

"I would like to be remembered as a good guy, who enjoys football," he said. "I hope the people enjoyed my football as well. It's simple."

UEFA's claim that Manchester City "disguised equity funding" from their owners was "unsubstantiated" but the club showed "blatant disregard" to the Financial Fair Play investigation, the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) said on Tuesday.

The CAS panel that heard Premier League City's appeal published their full reasoning for overturning the English club's two-year ban from European football earlier this month.

The decision allows City to compete in next season's elite Champions League competition.

Sport's highest court also reduced the fine for City's failure to cooperate with UEFA to 10 million euros (11.72 million U.S. dollars) from 30 million euros.

European football's governing body UEFA ruled in February that City had committed serious FFP breaches and failed to cooperate with its investigation.

The FFP regulations are designed to stop clubs running up big losses through spending on players. They also ensure sponsorship deals are based on their real market value and are genuine commercial agreements and not ways for owners to pump cash into a club to get around the rules.

UEFA opened an investigation into City in March 2019 after the publication of 'Football Leaks' documents led to allegations that the club’s Abu Dhabi owners inflated sponsorship agreements to comply with the FFP requirements.

The leaked documents included club emails which referred to money being "routed" through sponsors.

CAS ruled that the leaked documents could be used as evidence but noted that they did not prove the existence of any actual transactions that broke UEFA's rules and no evidence was produced that such payments were carried out.

The court also pointed out that the leaked emails were distributed internally and not sent to sponsors or other parts of the club's United Arab Emirates based owners.

The panel also said that some of UEFA's charges related to material that was over five years old and was therefore time-barred according to UEFA's own rules.

City did not supply UEFA's investigation with the original emails related to the leaked documents but CAS also noted that UEFA did not "pursue" that evidence before the hearing.

"UEFA's approach in this regard is understood, because it was faced with a dilemma between trying to obtain additional evidence and having an award issued before the start of the 2020/2021 UEFA club competitions season," said the CAS panel.

Explaining the decision to overturn the ban, CAS said that the charge of "dishonest concealment of equity", which was unproven, was more serious than the failure to cooperate with UEFA's investigation.

"The majority of the panel therefore does not consider it appropriate to impose any ban... for MCFC's failure to cooperate with the investigations alone," the judgment concluded.

Aubameyang double hands Arsenal FA Cup, Europa League spot with win over Chelsea

    IBiE9zw.jpg

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang scored twice to secure a 2-1 victory for Arsenal against Chelsea in the FA Cup final and with it a place in the Europa League on Saturday.

Saturday's FA Cup was the third time Arsenal and Chelsea have faced off in finals in as many years with Arsenal beating Chelsea in the 2017 FA Cup and the Blues coming out on top in the 2019 Europa League final.

It was Chelsea who started the brighter with Christian Pulisic becoming just the second United States international to score in an FA Cup final, following in the footsteps of Carli Lloyd who scored for Manchester City in 2017.

The U.S star opened Chelsea's account after just five minutes when Mason Mount sent a low ball into the box which was flicked into Pulisic's path by former Arsenal forward Olivier Giroud. A quick touch from Pulisic on the penalty spot was all it took to chip the ball over Emiliano Martinez's head.

Arsenal thought they had equalised on 25 minutes when Nicolas Pepe curled a stunning shot from outside the box into the top left corner past Willy Caballero. However, the offside flag was up before Pepe's shot even hit the back of the net and replays showed that Ainsley Maitland Niles, who fed the pass to Pepe, had been caught ahead of the Chelsea defence.

The Gunners were gifted a goal just a minute later though when Cesar Azpilicueta brought Aubameyang down in the box and referee Anthony Taylor pointed to the penalty spot.Arsenal coach Mikel Arteta said before the game that winning the FA Cup would be crucial to keeping Arsenal's talisman and it was Aubameyang who stepped up to put Arsenal level on 28 minutes.

Azpilicueta had a tough day on the pitch and the Chelsea captain limped off in tears after 34 minutes with a hamstring injury, replaced by Andreas Christensen.Frank Lampard was forced into another change seconds into the restart when Pulisic went down also clutching his hamstring after Chelsea's first attack of the second half.

The first 20 minutes of the half were a slower affair with both sides failing to find any kind of spark.Despite the momentum building in Chelsea's favour, Aubameyang broke the deadlock and added his second of the day on 67 minutes.A quick pass in from Pepe saw Aubameyang take a touch before dinking the ball over Ceballos' head.Luck wasn't on Chelsea's side and six minutes later Mateo Kovacic was sent off after a sliding tackle on Granit Xhaka saw him earn a second yellow card.

Chelsea were reduced to nine men in the final seconds of the game after Pedro went down clutching his shoulder in the box and had to receive oxygen before being stretchered off.The win marks Arsenal's 25th year qualifying for Europe and means that Wolves will have to win the Europa League if they want to appear in the competition next season.

After the match, Arteta thanked Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola for his guidance during his time at his assistant at the club."I have to say thank you to Pep in every way because I am a manager now in big part thanks to him," Arteta told BT Sport after the match."If someone had told me when I started that I would go through this and just see the spirit in that dressing room with the staff and what we have been creating -- that is what I am most proud of."
