The truth of the matter is, nobody ACTUALLY knows!
BTC is still the king, mainly because it`s used as a store of value. BTC value is up mainly due to the exact reason you mentioned. Global economies not doing well, low interest rates and bond rates, so people (and largely institutions) park money in BTC. When economies recover, the BTC money may move somewhere else, but when? No one exactly knows.
DeFi tokens/coins are the current hype, so might be better to research in to some of those. If you don't know the meaning of DeFi, you`ve got a whole lot of reading to do.
One thing I've learnt over the years is that with Alt-coins/tokens (again, if you don't know what Alt coins are, read-up) you need to exit at one point. Hodling doesn't seem to work well for Alt coins.
