Read the book "The White Masai" by Corinne Hoffman. It's about a German girl (living in Switzerland) falling in love with a Masai. It's her story, written quite beautifully, A love story across two divides, very readable and it was a bestseller.
I believe there was a movie made too. Possibly on you tube now, but I have only read the book.
PS: I have been to a real Masai village. Not the showpiece they take you in Masai-Mara which is more less a commercial act in place for tourists.
Their life is difficult, but they are happy with what they have. Life expectancy is quite low. They drink cow-blood added to cow-milk. They make a small incision on the cow and drain some blood.
Technology has invaded their lives, even kids have a mobile in hand. Charging is an issue because they do not have electricity in their huts, so they have to visit the community centre. Also there are places where solar charging is available. The younger generation speak good English.
