Here some articles revels the gravity of this situation,

    https://thediplomat.com/2021/02/sri-lankas-foreign-debt-crisis-could-get-critical-in-2021/

    https://www.consultancy.asia/news/3911/ceos-have-mixed-outlook-for-sri-lankass-economy-in-2021

    https://economynext.com/sri-lanka-p...e-deficits-cb-credit-tops-rs700billion-76398/

are we looking at next Zimbabwe or Venezuela, if you try to explain this to an arse licking @erozan and @2osama better try talking to a buffalo, main reason why i convey my ideas in English is, so those arse can't come and pour their stupid poisons to these threads.

I think its the high time people should look after themselves and leave the country as soon as possible wherever they could go, this political cancer has well grown within country even to the lowest administration level where the cure is unworkable. They are just 225 in numbers, but imagine thousands of big stupid ass licking followers like @erozan, @2osama to support them in every act ? where do we stand ?

China will take care of it. They will release funds and will not allow SL to sink.
What they will expect in return ? Eventually when the country declares bankruptcy, they will take over everything effortlessly, back then countries invaded each by war, what China does is, invading the country in a way they will not have any casualties.

it is amazing how our "patriots" would blast previous governments for "selling the country", while the current regime is literally turning us into a Chinese colony and there's not a word being said about it. Its absolutely crazy how much control the Rajapakshas have over the common man.

Hopefully government's policy of encouraging exports, discouraging imports, less loans / more investments will help...
We also have to remember there is a global pandemic going on, so it exacerbates an already terrible economic crisis
Covid has had a very bad impact on all countries, but it will go away soon so there is hope in my opinion

Let's just put aside covid, and the current global recession as they will pop up in no time for sure,

    How about this
Just having loans over the income , let's just be precious , having interest of loans over the income.
Corruption, political instability over starertigal planning , literacy of the Adminstration which is irrelevant to their field of service, most importantly political slaves like @erozan will drive this place to nowhere for sure.

Covid has had a major impact on global economy, so we cannot just put it aside!
It played a big part in downfall of the Sri Lankan economy which was already in a bad state.

I agree with everything you have said regarding poor management of economy and everything else by all governments so far.
But the current government has taken many good steps to counter this (honestly don't know if it's enough)
Several months after Covid is gone only will we able to size up the actual situation of the economy.

You keep saying erozan is a political slave and don't want him in this conversation, but you keep mentioning him, why?
