Govt to ban import of luxury items

The Government has decided to drastically curtail the import of several luxury items, as well as other goods that are deemed non-essential, informed sources revealed.
These sources stated that among the items that the Government plans to halt importing are electronic items such as mobile phones, televisions, refrigerators, several electrical appliances, perfumes and similar items.
It is said that through this measure the Government is seriously considering strengthening the declining foreign reserves in the country as well as providing an opportunity for local businessmen within the domestic market. These sources added that this measure would be relaxed once the foreign reserves become solidified.
