එකෙන් පුළුවන් වින්ඩෝස් වල එක ඒක දේවල් custormize කරන්න. Start button එකේ නම මාරු කරන්න වගේ දේවල්..
ඕකෙන් වෙනස් කරහම හෙන සිද්දිය.

ඊට පස්සේ තව තිබ්බා system mechanic කියලා එකක් පට්ට. එකෙන් registry එකේ snapshot එකකුයි drive වල වෙනස් වෙච්ච files මොනවද කියලා හොයන්න පුළුවන් before and after.

මම කරන්නේ winboost එකෙන් සිටින එක enable කරන්න කලින් snap shot එකක් ගහලා වින්ඩෝස් එකෙන් සෙට් එක හදලා ආයෙ snapshot දෙක කොම්පයා කරල බලනවා Winboost වල මොනවද වෙනස් වෙලා තියෙන්නෙ කියලා.

ඒ සිද්ධියෙන් windows වැඩ කරන හැටි මාර විදියට ඉගෙන ගත්තා. ඊට පස්සේ malicious code කරන්න පටන් ගත්ත ආතල් එකට.

Windows 98 වල තිබ්බ bootable Disket එකක් හදන්න batch ප්‍රෝග්‍රෑම් එකක්. Windows වලම බිල්ට් ඉන් එන.
ඒක right click කරලා edit කරපුවාම කෝඩ් එක පෙනුනා. ඊට පස්සේ format /autotest කියන dos command එක එතනින් තමයි ඉගෙන ගත්තේ. ඕක wendows වන autoexec.bat file එකට දැම්මහම windows restart කරපුවාම computer එක auto format වෙනවා. ඒක තමයි පළවෙනි malicious code එක.
ඉස්සර ප්‍රෝගැමින් කරන්න හෙන ආසාවක් තිබ්බා, හේතුව වෙන මොකවත් නෙමෙයි virus හදන්න. පට්ට interesting ඒවායේ coding. McAfee නොටන් වල virus update file එකක් එනවා cd වල.
ඒවට අහු වෙන virus අරගෙන code එක මොඩිෆයි කරලා ආයේ පතුරවනවා අහු නොවෙන්න.
Html redloff, වගේ එක එක ඒව තිබ්බා ආයෙත් customize කරපු.
පස්සෙ කාලෙක වුන සිද්දියක් නිසා එදායින් පස්සෙ ඒ වැඩේ නැවැත්තුවා.

Don't complain... I can still calculate anything for 3 decimals without a calculator. I still remember the logs 10,20,30,40.. up to 90 and the logs of frequently used universal physical constants like the value of "g" , Absolute temperature 273.1 and many others by heart.
If you probably ask a present day kids about logs.. they will only know the log files on a computer.

PS: My first scientific calculator was a Casio FX-201P - one of my relatives working in Singapore gave it as a present. 10 digits. Fluorescent display and 4 xAA batteries.

This is a thread that shares experiences not to complain about.
I know when you go abroad most of the foreigners (and Sri lankans too) in shops , ect cant do a simple calculation by mind. So you are at an advantage , but they are ahead us by miles in latest developments (technical or otherwise).
Before calculators there was a thing called Slide Ruler(which is more accurate than Cal or Logs) . We had one at home and I am keeping it as treasure! (still most accurate calculations were done by this , including Mr. Sinclaire (another past , first personal computers that most sri lankans had ZX81 and Spectrum, QL etc... all in 80s. )

තව වෛරස් ගාඩ් එකක් ලිව්ව registry එකේ startup path/startup folders clear කරලා, filesize එකෙන් virus detect කරලා මකල දාන්න පුලුවන්. ඒකාලෙ තිබ්බ usb autorun වලින් එන වෛරස් කන්දරාවෙ හැටියට ඒක මාර ඉෆෙක්ටිව්. ඔක අප්ඩේට් කර කර හිටියා අවුරුදු ගානක්. මගේ යාලුවොත් පාවිච්චි කරා. ඒ කාලෙ වෛරස් එකක් ඇහැට දැකපු ගමන් කියන්න පුලුවන්. ඔකෙන් තමයි keyboard/mouse hooks, filesystem hooks, windows permissions, multithreading ගැන එහෙම ඉගෙනගත්තෙ.

windows xp වල loop එකක් ඇතුලේ diskpart ගහලා clean දුන්නම අර ෆිල්ම් වල පෙන්නනව වගේම PC එකට කෙලවෙනව. boot.ini එක වෙනස් කරල බොරුවට බය කරල ආපහු තිබ්බ වගේම හදන්නත් පුලුවන්.

අපේ ගෙවල් පැත්තේ මට විතරයි PC එකක් තිබ්බේ... මට මතක විදියට පෙන්ටියම් 4 එකක්දෝ කොහෙද. වින්ඩෝස් Me වෙනකන් ද කොහෙද අප්ඩේට් කලා... පස්සේ dual core එකක් ගත්තා. XP වල නොදාපු මොඩ් එකක් නෑ. මට මතකයි මන් චූටිම කාලේ ඩොස් ගේම් එහෙමත් ප්ලේ කලා අපේ අම්මාගේ ඔෆිස් එකේ කම්පියුටර් එකේ.

මුල්ම PC AMD K6-2 500Mhz එක. Windows 95-98SE වැඩ කලා මේකෙ. ටික ටික upgrade කලා. අයිය නිසා තමයි IT ඉගෙන ගත්තෙ. පොර දැන් Senior Tech Lead කෙනෙක්.

අපි දෙන්න පුදුම ඇඩිල්ලක් අඩල ඕක් ගත්තෙ. එදා ඉන්දන් AMD Range එකේ දෙක තුනක්ම තිබ්බ (Duron, Sempron, Athlon XP).

මුලින්ම Format karala 98 දාපු දවස (නාගත්ත), XP දාපු දවස, CD එකක් write කරපු දවස, 56k dialup internet ගිහිපු දවස (මොඩෙම් එකෙ ඩ්යල් ටොන්) අද වගේ මතකයි.

Computer එකක් කියන්නෙ හිතාගන්න බැරි තරම් වටින දෙයක් අපිට ඒ කාලෙ.

දෙමව්පියන්ට පින්සිද්ද වෙන්න ඉන්න තැනක් වත් නැති කාලෙ ලෝන් දාල හරි අරන් දුන්න. අද ලමයි හතර දෙනාගෙන් දෙනෙක් IT Field එකෙ.
