Ebay to Sri Lanka without tax

I'm hoping to buy a used smartwatch from ebay.
Wanted to know will the Sri Lankan customs will charge taxes even for a used item.
If so is there any way to avoid it.

And you will have to get import control licence, if its a router then trc permission, paid recipts, all sorts of documents not worth the hassle

you dont need import control license for a watch, just state it as a normal watch and bring it down, won't be a big issue.

Personally, I would agree with paying taxes for a brand new item. But a used item or a gift should be exempt. The hassle that you have to go through in paying taxes is so much more and most prefer not to.

Yep, I second it. There's no proper valuation-based tax or percentage tax. Everything depends on the guy at the counter who might give any value he wants to and we will have no choice but to pay and release the package.
