I don't care if port city launders money from Mexican drug cartel, if it brings dollars to Sri Lanka. I Strongly feel there is a good possibility that rupee will become strong again. But also have a doubt.

When tourism is back on its feet, rupee will appreciate at the same time our imports will also grow because people are now adjusted to the new prices. I don't know. I have mix ideas.

Currently srilanka lacks foreign currency, that's why it's artificially inflated due to lack of supply for demand. Once country open up to tourism and exports pick up, foreign reserve will build up slowly. Then price will come down. However this will not happen in 3 months time. I'm expecting another 12-18 months to stabilise exchange rates.
