The list seemed non-essential but I just wonder impact on Economy as we are not living any longer in 70s where people did not have even a refrigerator so these items can be considered luxury. We had import substitution economy even after 77 and most of the products here were considered luxury including washing machines , tv etc had a special tax.
The impact on this import ban will be similar to other unwise things this govt did . Eg Chemical fertilizer (finally we paid millions of USD to Chinese caompany without fertilizer and also they have not got a claim against us !!) and we are back to square one!
Good for 6.9 million who believed people such as Wimal, G'pila, Cabral, Vasu, Dr Padeniya, Dr. Wijedasa, and voted this govt to power without a plan or vision. These are people who deceive masses with big mouth but lack any vision for future. Where were they when our first Rating downgrade in 2019 . They were criticizing Rating agencies including Wimal and G'pila ....
We were in bad state since 2015 due to huge loans from China to unproductive projects so could not have slashed Taxes like what GR -Wimal- cabral did . Next was using Reserves to stabilize Dollar and many more...
