1. At that time Gota seems to be a much better solution than the previous yahapalana government.
2. Gota's marketing campaign was better than all the others. They really sold the idea that Gota will do it differently with educated people. Hence why most of the people from viyathmaga got higher votes.
3. Nobody thought JVP would win. People don't vote for losing parties. They only bet on a winning horse.

4. Things can change in a short time. People change. Like how quickly Pohottuwa & Gota's potential vote base is dropping, in the same way another party's vote base can increase as well. JVP's potential vote base is increasing as of now. In 2 years? Don't know
5. JVP has changed their strategy. Instead of always talking about the shit that the government has done, they are mostly talking about their strategy & they plan on governing the country is they come to power. Also house can they fix this?
6. Instead of looking for a single person as the savior of the country they are saying only solution is to try &b fix this as a team. They are willing to get advise from experts on how to get the country on the right track.

My opinion of the JVP as of now... Might change on how they act in three future tho

To be fair that does not make one not communist, communism recognizes how religion helps maintain the status quo but attempting to strip it away from the working class can be counter productive to the movement. Any communist movement that does not respect its nation's cultural values will not succeed. This is why China calls it "socialism with Chinese characteristics". But I do agree that the JVP is not communist.

To be fair that does not make one not communist, communism recognizes how religion helps maintain the status quo but attempting to strip it away from the working class can be counter productive to the movement. Any communist movement that does not respect its nation's cultural values will not succeed. This is why China calls it "socialism with Chinese characteristics". But I do agree that the JVP is not communist.

The core ideology of communism is not supporting any religion. He is falling in a monks legs for blessings, Then what's the difference between JVP ? UNP ? Pohottuwa ? All are same then. People should know that JVP is not a communist party anymore. I would rather waste my vote than to give it to a fake communist party who can't even live by their own standards.

If Anura is a Buddhist, no issue in respecting a monk in this way. He has told in interviews that he had grown up with Budhist influence & he was close to his village temple.

As a political party in a Buddhist country, and where people do care about race & religion, there is nothing wrong with what he did. They have many times said that the present JVP is not a total communist party

China is in the process of achieving it. We will most probably not see any country fully achieve this, the higher stages of communism, in our life time. We will most likely see more countries transitioning away from capitalism to communism like China is doing right now within the next 20-100 years

China's current government is a people's government, but their end goal is for that government to cease to exist at some point, which might take 100 or even 200 years

I voted for AKD in 2019 and i don't blame people who voted gota in 2019
Its simply people were afraid of national security and they were brainwashed by media
So they had to go for Gota as Sajith was weak and UNP did not handled pasku incidents very well

I think waves should be there and now wave should be making AKD as the main common candidate and drop sajith and patali and ranil too. Let pohottuwa decide Gota or anyone from their side. Then we can see a tight fight. Instead if sajith came as the main common candidate, pohottuwa has a chance to win When it comes to general its must give many seats as much as possible for NPP
