Did you try Steam VR with Quest 2? (quest 3 improved one 7times cheaper). Did you try Apple Goggle to compare both? I reviewed by specs. No Gaming or VR controller Support, Same bad iOS software, Overpriced, Focused on AR but we have thin and lite AR headsets already. AR is 7 years old tech hololense did it liter and smoother. They just didnt have sheeps.
OS is same as apple phone. not modified for VR, You can just stream your TV screen or monitor screen inside headset, no native apps to run games. Cant connect to PC with Steam VR where the best games are. Apple will sell Controllers standalone for another 1000-2000USD. 5000$ worth of a gadget for a single person use? Ridiculous. will have 10000 users worldwide not enough for development of the platform. Thats why dead on arrival. They are gambling. This is a failed product like 1000$ Apple monitor stand. +Apple dont have a gaming platform like Sony has.
And just 2 hours(1.5h actual) of battery life with an attached tail. cant even watch a full movie.
Meta will jumpstart with this. majority people will get interested on VR and AR and they will go for oculus quest 3 which is the 7 times cheaper option and cost effective option.

Ecosystem is bulshit. Should be stopped and rejected. Apple chips can do what? Still for AI training and gaming we need Nvidia Chip or Amd. Spill out same bullshit tim cook spill out on stage. Brigtness is for AR. For VR brightness is too much in Quest 2 even I lower the brightness. AR is for designers, architectures, Doctors etc. how come this bulky AR for consumer? normal consumer would buy an AR glass if its like just a fashion glass for that amount of money (like rokid one). Yah Sheeps are the main culprits who act like VR and AR invented in this week by Apple. This will be a new kickstart for Meta and Sony, Good side here is, those NPC people just know more about VR/AR now, but wont spend on that bulky goggle will go for Meta 3 or PSVR instead cheaper and more gaming support. Im worried of this new trend. If headsets without inbuilt controllers become norm, like what happened to 3.5 mm Jack, SD card and Adapter, This will be another expense for the customer to buy standalone controllers.Machan. Just curious. What are you trying to achieve here. Tying to win an online argument? I don’t think apple is going to listen to you here. Also, I don’t think a lot of Sri Lankans are going to buy this device and your arguments here is not going to make a dent by changing any minds.
This device is not for a lot of people. It is for a few early adopters / enthusiasts / developers. I don’t plan on buying it, and I’d say, you want to wait for about 5 years before it becomes cheaper and better (yes, I agree 2hr battery is a joke). But this is a Gen 1 device and it has the potential to become something great. I look forward to it. Remember how shitty mobile were phones 20 years ago?
The release of this device is not going to stop META from working on Quest. You are free to buy that (In fact, I have a vested interest in META making more money). However, I’d say, competition is good. Apple (along with it’s countless sheeple, like me) has a good side too. That is to popularize product segments (yes, coming to market few years late and pretending like apple invented is frustrating, even for me).
Now if you are airing out your frustration because apple makes design decisions and every other company blindly follow it, I totally understand you. Like they make the normal price of an AR/VR headset to $3500, evert other headset becomes expensive. But apple is not the sole culprit here. It’s the consumers who look at Apple headset and demand their specs/style/features from other manufacturers.
