This wont be an iphone killer, what might kill iphone, or simply any smart device will be their own Apple vision pro. The visuals and the experience has to go beyond to kill something already well established..

Also AR, VR devices may keep a very short lifespan, if some of Elon's futuristic brain chips come to market, and find a way to give the same kind of experience without wearing any device, but to plant one chip kind of thing directly to the body.. ( black mirror vibe.. )

No one can really forecast the future... iPhone sales are dropping anyway for the third successive quarter. Many are buying Apple products not because of it's the best product in the market but Apple had the headstart to form an ecosystem of their software and services. So people continue with it.
