The FCID is investigating the defrauding of money from the invoices for payments made to models who participated in a function at St. Kitts to campaign for Hambantota to become the host for the 2018 Commonwealth Games.

The accused is the sister of Iraj Weeraratne, Anushika Rishni Weeraratne, whose Red Cherry was the organizer of the function.

FCID sources say Red Cherry had submitted invoices claiming each model was paid Rs. 01 million, but that the models had been asked to return the money back in Sri Lanka.

This has been confirmed by statements given by a singer, said to be a girlfriend of Namal Rajapaksa, an actress and her sister.
