How to Stop Windows From Forcefully Updating BIOS? 💻

Until today, Windows has not updated my bios through Windows Update. It was under "Optional Updates". Today, I was caught off-guard and had to update my bios. Previously, I used to hide updates with the wushowhide (Microsoft Updates Troubleshooter Tool), but it didn't work today.

Is there a definite way that I can stop Windows from updating BIOS?

I run windows update every 5 weeks and this is the 1st time this happened to me. Windows Update forcefully updated BIOS of both Lenovo and Dell laptops.

I do patch and deploy windows updates for my homelab
Windows these days handle 95% of the driver updates
never had to go to manufacturer website and download them directly

BIOS updates are critical, and you need to update them regularly
Also 5 weeks too much considering you're missing shit ton of security updates
at least update once a 3 week

Just let Windows handle it; don't worry too much

Use linux

Currently using Windows 11 as the primary OS. Used to run Kali as the primary a while back. Don't see switching back to linux anytime soon. For the time being I use Kali inside VMware on one of the laptops.

Not in my experience. At least for the time being. Should not mess with BIOS until it's absolutely necessary especially in lenovo legions. At the moment I use both for personal use only.
