nah it goes way beyond that. typically collected user data gets sold to data brokers then they sell access to that data to 3rd parties who can use it for various purposes
that profiling can then be used against you
price discrimination for example; showing you higher prices based on your income and how much you're willing to spend
it's the right to user's privacy that they're voilating
