How do you decide for sure that so-and-so is a murderer? Court decision? No. It is not 100 percent definite. If so, can an innocent man be punished with death by mistake? Yes. Read 'The Innocent Man' by John Grisham (USA) or find details on the Internet.

heads of those drug scene are absolutely big time ..politicians favor them..they are above the reach of law..so if public wna see dead bodys we will see dead bodys but at the end of the day the real deal, the source of disease would still be alive. so may be i get the feeling that, killing is not the ultimate solution..we have to consider the source.
politicians are not given to interfere at present in the war against drugs and underworld one politician has asked his guy to be released but gotabaya has said u don't interfere in my work after clearing that building nation

I think the life sentence is better! everybody must be given a second chance! people bound to change! there are no absolute Good people or vice versa! if a non guilty person had been executed he has no chance to make a appeal or make things right! :D (i dunno whether itz possible with the low)

now that they ended the war they all are saints? we can never know ..and in that sense some politicians do know about these criminals and they obviously favor them which means they are even remotely involved in those activities ..do we see politicians going down? clearing the underworld is a good thing, i do believe/hope they will do it right.

I don't condone it. Mainly because there can be innocent (wrongly accused) victims. Once you kill there is no reversing it.

Exactly. There are recorded cases of such innocent people being victimised. I mean cases of law courts finding innocent people guilty of murder. When I think of them, my eyes get wet. :(

    U totally understood me!!!

I don't trust the gov, and this can happen in our country as well! I know that for sure!!!
There are so many unsolved cases, like hell they will do it right now when death penalty is also legal.
It brings too many fire on the table, and we are not ready to burn our fingers!!

Beside we don't have the right to kill, let someone creep his life out, and think about his failures. Long life put in jail is for me the right answer than ending somes life!!!

And there are so many mistakes maken, even in US, where in some states its legal. After someone is death by the death penalty, they investigate the case again, and the conclusion was he wasnt the right one. So they killed an innocent man!!

I don't think SRi lanka is ready and that well organised to have a death penalty system!
Long or short, our people is going to abuse it anyway!

    Agreed 100 per cent.

    Yes kiyala vote kala But i have some doubts

Why on earth did you vote 'Yes kiyala' if you have doubts?

Your hasty voting gives a wrong impression when looking at vote results.

Quite right. A person may become a murderer on sudden emotion. He may repent later. Why not give him a chance to correct himself?

But this is not the only reason why I'm against death penalty.
