isn't that too big ? i mean a 18.4" screen ?

Yep, if you want to carry it on a daily basis, then surely this is going to break your back.

IMO a netbook is only good as a secondary machine, they are too weak and tiny to be used as your primary. Now I'm cursing myself for buying this 16 incher for the sake of watching movies on the bed
I should have gone with a netbook, no need to baby, forget about fiddling with air vents and shits, decent battery life.. lol
My first notebook was a 14.1, even that was too big for my liking, cos I carry it almost daily. Then I moved to a 12.1 and now a 13.3. But one thing to watchout when buying a small notebook : NEVER buy discrete graphics. I had to change the MB twice on 12.1 and once on the current 13.3. Graphics cards keep crapping out on meYa, my 15.6" is also about 5 Kg![]()
, and they heat up like hell..

I get upto 90 C when playing big games. (9800M GS)Mine is bit old, and it is an entry level 8400M GS, but still it reaches 70C even when idlingI get upto 90 C when playing big games. (9800M GS)
. I dont play games on the notebook, but decided to get an nVidia card cos I thought i'll give me more freedom and better overall performance. But I'll think twice about a discreet card when upgrading next time.. But from what I hear the new hybrid (discrete + integrated) systems are much better at power consumption and heat.indeed. I didn't go after much powerful specs for this notebook either, My PC is heaven to me.. lolIMO a netbook is only good as a secondary machine, they are too weak and tiny to be used as your primary.
hmm.. sad scene.. mine supports 4 clock stages (I presume yours too) for the GPU, VRAM and Shaders so it usually idles around 45-50c , the GPU itself is nothing to write home about though, a 9200M GEMine is bit old, and it is an entry level 8400M GS, but still it reaches 70C even when idling. P.S : HDD is the hottest POS on mine, idles around 51c.![]()
). To make matters worse DELL has put a thick thermal pad between the GPU core and heat sink. I have seen a special copper mod on the internet for this problem, but didn’t try that cos I still have 1.5 more years of warranty left on this thing (got a 3 year complete care).
P.S : flashback, sorry for going off topic..![]()
