Richie Valens is the singer of extremely popular songs such as La Bamba and Earth Angel

Can't even believe how a 17 year old can be so popular!! Even after 50 years after his death he is still popular

He was a one of the people who made Rock and Roll extremely popular.

He died in a plane crash

The plane was piloted by a very young boy

Richie Valens was one of the most popular singers of his time

Its not only Valens that died, The same crash killed Buddy Holly, Richie Valens and JP Richerdson, Of the these 3 Buddy Holly is the most popular as he was a pioneer in rock and roll music and the day the music died is synonymous with the death of Buddy Holly. Not Vanels.
The term "The day the music died" comes from the Don Maclean's song American Pie.
He dedicated the album to Buddy Holly.
