ISN'T IT THE TIME TO BAN CORPORAL PUNISHMENT IN SRI LANKAN SCHOOLS?

you ended that stupid war, now please save the future generation!

EVERYONE, PLEASE THINK WHY DEVELOPED COUNTRIES BANNED CORPORAL PUNISHMENTS in their school????

Physical punishments should not be allowed as well as psychological punishments. There is no point in punishing a child because it doesn't tell the child the correct behaviour. The adults like teachers should guide the children and the parents also have a responsibility in this-some parents don't teach their children right and wrong at all.

I just can't understand what they teach at the teacher training schools. Apparently, many teachers don't understand anything about the child's mind, what growth is all about, how to act in an emergency, how to take responsibility or how to protect the children.

Dude it was a public issue
the child has taken it too high, its a result of parents expecting children to be 100% good and ruthless -d*ckheaded- teachers. Child is innocent to a certain level because if she wasnt ever taught to stand up with what she believes is right. Punishments are made all over SL and in other countries too but children dont go suicide themselves for that--they suicide because of the public punishments and because they are not matured enough to face it.
Children should stand up and beat the fu*kin teacher down if needed this is a republic any one who did the RIGHT thing must not be punished, if a innocent person is being punished for something he/she never did that person should get the help of the society and the law to stand up against that!!...this society isnt helping them! thats the problem the real thieves, murderers, rapists are out there free while innocent people get the blame its same for the children but children are too immature and as been down graded by the adults. Thats the problem, not physical punishment -- the one who did something wrong and expects such punishment bares it because he did that for a innocent guy/girl its not bearable.

the teacher shud b first arrested. there can b many charges that can b brought upon her. one corporal punishment. another being being a factor for a crime scene.

im sure this teacher is still teaching in that skool and that she must b justifing her facts. but after i watched the video something jst poped into my mind.

its is that im sure n e child wud hav been able to bear a punishment lyk dat. but there was dis lady in da vdo who said dat she was kept after skool alone kiyala ne. i hav my doubts on if she had been abused sexually by someone during da time she was kept back and this she cudnt bear it and so she took away life. coz for a grade 8 student, im sure a few shots in da hand and kneeling for sumtime wudnt hav had affected much!! this abuse factor shud b chkd into!!
