Sometimes
I too wonder
if a soldier is killed in the war,
he is a defeated soldier.

Still
can we call him a Hero?
One who stand alive is the hero.
One who dead in fighting also called a hero.
Confusing.
:frown:

If we consider this case
one who escaped is the real hero.
But we are forced by our habit to call the two who are killed
also heroes.

Please someone
define
THE HERO.

This is claerly an indication of how uneducated you are..

With Great Regret I Write This Here....
But I still Dont Know How To Define This Scernario.....

I Went To Jayawardene Hospital In Mid Of July To See My Mom With My GF
And There Were So Many Soldiers In the Hospital As Well....

On Our Way Back My GF & My Self were walking on the corridor towords the entrance...

I Noticed a soldier in walking in uniform coming toward us and I asked my Gf to step a side and give him room....and she did (May be she was 20ft away from him)

but the soldier came right towords my GF and hit her breast with his strong body where she ended up lying on the floor....he didnt even look behind....

I helped my GF to stand up n her feet and then took her to a near by dispensary to treat her wounds....

I dont know how to define this...Can you??

I think he is just a misguided Hero.
The way they treated by Govt politicians
and people who belived Govt media
puffed them up unnecessarily.
I think many who were misled by temporary glory
expected the same respect they received by media, by posters and banners.
In reality even Lord Buddha, Jesus, etc
don't get the respect and worshiping
what people show in temple.

So,
slowly
as they get less and less attention
some will be disappointed.
Some are bound to get frustrated like pampered children
and will act in some way different to get attention.
Last night a soldier
sang "Obe Raagie Mana kalanbedo' in Super stars.
He was excellent
with a strong male voice which is like a miracle
in these days of male singers with female vices.

That will happen rarely.
Most attention seekers
will be mischievous,
and rude or even brutal.
Some will end up in violence and death.
No one realize when something happens it is just temporary.

If one is aware
when things pass s/he would not become insane.
Otherwise one is bound to be frustrated.
Watch King Mahinda closely.
That frustration is there
in his look, in his voice and his words.
He can tolerate a lot
and he knows more than many other politicians
perhaps next to J. R Jayawardane
how to control undue glory.
But
even he couldn't control the mob which went out of bounds.

They pushed things high up
expecting people to remember them forever.
But we all know the memory of Sinhalese.
So we are bound to face some frustrated heroes
here and there.
We shuld see the reson behind there behavior and sympathetic.
Or people who can pretend may pretend to act
as they respected and glorified them in the past.

Once in the past
they fought for the country.

Politicians will continue to gain on their victory.
They will only get the salary.
Recently there was news that it too is cut down for celebrations.

there could be people doing bad things in the army as well... but after years of recieveing good news, and when we get a bad news about one single army soldier, why are you going to judge the whole army by that incident?

:) just an idea.
