Away We Go (2009) - [370mb]

Sam Mendez+John Krasinski+Maya Rudolph+Cameos from big names such as Catherine O’Hara and Jeff Daniels= Indie comedy/drama (which I will hereby dub com-rama….no….. com-o-rama). That is what I would write if I was to carve my thoughts about the new film Away We Go into a big carved heart on the side of a big tree in a forest behind Leonard Nemoy’s house. Luckily I don’t have to. I’m not really into the whole brevity thing anyway.
Away We Go- a heart warming tale of two young lovers Burt (John Krasinski) and Verona (Maya Rudolph) who search the United States and beyond to find the perfect place to settle down and raise their daughter to be. During their journey, intermingled with much hilarity and the many antics of themselves and their off the wall friends and family, they realize what it means to be good parents, lovers, and friends. Tear.
What you will like about this movie-
The performances are awesome. John Krasinski plays his good ol’ loveable self that we all know and love from his other films and television shows (no I am not sick of Jim Halpert yet, even though he seems to show up everywhere John Krazinski does, with different levels of himself depending on the film and occasion). This version of Jim curses and uses bedroom talk. Worth a gander.
Also worthy of note: John Krasinski’s Beard. Every year or so there comes along a film that has some great emotional impact on me in one way or another. Away We Go has successfuly awaken a beast within me, and that beast, ladies and gentlemen, is named the want and desire to have a beard like John Krasinski’s.

Sigh. Sure there may be thicker, more robust beards out there, but those beards don’t belong to Jim Halpert.
What Not to Like (because I said so thats why)-
Maggie Gyllenhaall plays a weird, braless, hippie professor who refuses to push her kids in a stroller. Though I have no complaints against Maggie Gyllenhaal or her performance, her whole segment seemed out of place and a bit awkward, kinda like a joke that is funny at first, but then just keeps being drug out and beat to death, or a really long run-on sentence that has way too many commas, and you just cant figure why the writer doesn’t just end the sentence, and get on with it already.

INFESTATION –

Our hero, Cooper (Chris Marquette), awakes to find himself nauseous, weak and covered in webbing, hanging from the ceiling of an office where, just minutes ago, he started his new job. As he struggles out of his slimy prison he comes face to face with his opponent – a grotesque, powerful and very angry bug. All 3 ft of it. And so begins a hideous, nail-biting, comedic, all-action adventure to find a safe haven while constantly outwitting an infestation of monstrous proportions. As Cooper embarks on his journey, he befriends a ragtag group of survivors including Sara (Brooke Nein), a feisty attractive female. Although the situation is dire, Cooper can’t help himself from trying to solve his dating problem while trying to save his life. Will they make it to safety before they are picked off one by one? And what other surprises are in store for our group of unlikely heroes?
