Fonseka takes responsibility of incidents during the war

Opposition Common Candidate General Sarath Fonseka told reporters today that he would take responsibility for what happened at the hands of the military right throughout the war against terrorism as the then Army Commander, and no field commander acted in violation of any international law in this respect.

Addressing a hurriedly summoned press conference, General Fonseka said that the state is hurling cooked up allegations against him by misinterpreting a media statement made by him. (KB)
