i m not a die hard sarath fonseka supporter...
but i may vote for him this time... but i will not expect 180 degree turnaround like some people here....and i dont think SF will win the election this time... but i feel all your questions are political... anyway i thought of answering them...

1. UNP has lot of corrupted people... but MR need not to follow them isnt it??? anyway it is different to have a leader and family who are corrupted from having corrupted members...

2. mahinda is doing some development... it is the duty of the leader... it is not to score points... and previous leaders also did some developments... but developments by HSBC bank loans are not acceptable and it will pull the country back... and fly overs became a fashion now to send peoples money to basils and access groups pockets...they spend more than 10 times for those...

3. this is very stupid question.... i hope you are an educated person... if you get good marks do you need help of the examiner to pass an exam???? so if some one is having all the necessory qualifications, experience and capability needed to handle a responsibility he should get the post... no need to go behiend president... if MR given the army commander post to you (without even seeing the war front) then your point is true... but not for person with 40 years experience.... but other way is definitely true... if war was messed up mahinda would be at home now, since he failed in all other areas...

did SF go to the front lines with a gun...run with the soldiers?.....no he was closer...in a tent...but still just as far away as the president.....this is true for all military's of the world....

by saying he gave the order MR is saying he guided the war.....by listening to the options given by ALL three of his generals.....SF was a small cog in the wheel.....set in motion by the president....

because ultimately the president is liable....hence this war is his victory....

besides man...why do you need a secretary of defense...but as a mediator between president & defense forces...which include the counter intelligence....

you ppl seem to have forgotten...SF saw a minor part of the war....the president had to over see not only the military....but also our spies....etc etc....there were so many arms looking out for us...SF just one of the many fingers in one of the many arms...

Gen. Fonseka agrees to TNA demands

R. Sambandhan MP, Mavai Senathirajah MP and Suresh Premachandran MP all from the TNA had met the leader of opposition Ranil Wickramasinghe and the common opposition candidate General Fonseka and had discussed the problems Tamil community are facing and on the solution to the ethnic problem last night (22nd).
The TNA members have also had an hour long discussion with SLMC leader Party leader Rauf Hakeem about the problems that Tamil and Muslim community have.

Sri Lanka Watch learns from sources close to UNF that at the end of the meeting common candidate Gen. Sarath Fonseka has agreed to most of the demands tabled by the Tamil National Alliance, including the removal of all high security zones on the north and east, reduce the number of defence camps in the north and east, release over 12,000 Tiger suspects held in detention under a common amnesty etc. etc.
The following were the demands of the TNA.
1. Release 12,000 Tiger suspects held in detention under a common amnesty.
2. Remove all high security zones in the northeast.
3. Reduce the number of army camps in the north and east.
4. Find a political solution to the ethnic crisis.
5. Resettle the displaced quickly.
6. Provide them with all necessary facilities.
7. Construct houses they need.
8. End all planned resettlement that is being done in the east.
Prior to the meeting with Fonseka, Sambantha had called for a meeting of all 22 members, but only 12 members showed up for the meeting. According to MP Ariyanethiran, the TNA is yet to meet President Rajapakse. The TNA parliamentarians will be meeting again among themselves on the 4th of Jan. 2010.
