R. Sambandhan MP, Mavai Senathirajah MP and Suresh Premachandran MP all from the TNA had met the leader of opposition Ranil Wickramasinghe and the common opposition candidate General Fonseka and had discussed the problems Tamil community are facing and on the solution to the ethnic problem last night (22nd).
The TNA members have also had an hour long discussion with SLMC leader Party leader Rauf Hakeem about the problems that Tamil and Muslim community have.

Sri Lanka Watch learns from sources close to UNF that at the end of the meeting common candidate Gen. Sarath Fonseka has agreed to most of the demands tabled by the Tamil National Alliance, including the removal of all high security zones on the north and east, reduce the number of defence camps in the north and east, release over 12,000 Tiger suspects held in detention under a common amnesty etc. etc.
The following were the demands of the TNA.
1. Release 12,000 Tiger suspects held in detention under a common amnesty.:):):):):):):)
2. Remove all high security zones in the northeast.
3. Reduce the number of army camps in the north and east.
4. Find a political solution to the ethnic crisis.
5. Resettle the displaced quickly.
6. Provide them with all necessary facilities.
7. Construct houses they need.
8. End all planned resettlement that is being done in the east.
Prior to the meeting with Fonseka, Sambantha had called for a meeting of all 22 members, but only 12 members showed up for the meeting. According to MP Ariyanethiran, the TNA is yet to meet President Rajapakse. The TNA parliamentarians will be meeting again among themselves on the 4th of Jan. 2010.

Sinhala thugs?? Be a man and face them. I support SF and I do that some SLFP thugs show up.

But please, dont come here thinking that SF is going to sympathise with LTTE bastards. They deserved to die. I salute Shavedra for killing them, and Gota for giving the kill order and SF for leading the army to victory.

We dont need you or your support. Sinhala/Muslim votes will carry SF. There is a tamil man on the prez race. Go and vote for him.

Well said !!!

Our Leaders silence their weapons for peace!

Who are these leaders ?? Ah that megalomaniac & his butchers !! They deserved to die anyway. Killing them with the bullet was too kind. Shavendra should have brought them to Galle face & dismembered them alive, just the way they did to infants & pregnant mothers. You can see how kind the Sinhalese are. !!

Why didn't the cowards swallow the cyanide & wait till they were trapped, to surrender ha ha ha ???

Who cares for war crimes ?? Not a bugger.

Hats off to Shavendra & his brave men, for getting rid of this menace that destroyed our country for 3 dacades.
In this matter, Shavendra, SF & MR are all on the same side. No political divide. We salute them all.

Can u imagine to what low levels this "raja passa licker " has descended ? In order to "kade yanna" for MR, he is even willing to pose off as an LTTE sympathiser, & pretending to support SF. No self respecting man will ever pretend to be a LTTE supporter, & insult his motherland as "Shi lanka" This is the pitiful state to which the Govt. has fallen, in fear of the opposition candidate.
This lavatory washer must have been promised a post of cabinet miniter in charge of lavatories as a reward for the "sakkili weda" he is doing. So if MR is back in power, we can have a new cabinet with about 150 ministers, & wow what a prosperous country this will be !!!

I will happily forego 2 meals in order to maintain such a cabinet, provide them with subsidised food, more luxury vehicles , & pay them one lakh as house rent etc : etc:. After all it is the bounden duty of every patriotic citizen.

UN calls for explanation on Fonseka’s war crimes charges against Gota, Shavendra

    http://www.island.lk/2009/12/22/news1.html

The United Nations has, following allegations made by General (Retd) Sarath Fonseka of war crimes committed by Defence Secretary Gotabhaya Rajapaksa and Major General Shavindra de Silva, called for an explanation from Sri Lanka on the death of leading LTTE cadres during the end stages of Eelam war IV in May this year.

The UN Special Rapporteur on Extra-judicial, Summary or Arbitrary Executions, Phillip Alston, has asked the government to provide explanations with regard to the circumstances leading to the deaths of three senior LTTE cadres and their families during the final stages of military operations against the LTTE.

The demand for the explanations follows the recent statement made by Gen (Rtd) Sarath Fonseka, an opposition candidate at the forthcoming Presidential election, alleging that such killings had taken place, during an interview reported by The Sunday Leader of December 13, 2009.

A letter, by the UN Special Rapporteur Alston, addressed to Mrs. Kshenuka Senewiratna, the Permanent representative of Sri Lanka at the UN Office in Geneva, states:

"These allegations were made by the Commander of the Sri Lanka Army at the time of the events and subsequent Chief of Defence Staff (now retired) General Gardihewa Sarath Chandralal Fonseka, in an interview to the newspaper The Sunday Leader. The accounts of journalists embedded with the SLA 58th Brigade confirm some of the alleged circumstances of the death of Messers Nadeshan, Pulidevan and Ramesh and their families".

The letter also said: "On 17 May 2009, the day before your Excellency’s Government announced that its forces had completely defeated the LTTE, Messers Nadeshan, Pulidevan and Ramesh were trapped with other senior cadres of the LTTE in a small area north of Vellamullivaikkal. Through intermediaries that sought to establish contact with your Excellency’s Government to inquire how they could surrender to the Sri Lanka Army (SLA). The reply, coming from the Secretary of Defence in your Excellency’s Government and from a Member of Parliament who is at the same time a senior advisor to the President, and conveyed through the intermediaries, was that they should walk towards the positions of the SLA in a way that made their intentions clear and holding a white cloth. The Commander of the SLA 58th Brigade, the unit on the front line with the last LTTE position, however, received a telephone call from the Secretary of Defence instructing him to order his forces to shoot those surrendering. When Messers Nadeshan, Pulidevan, and Ramesh walked towards the SLA positions carrying white cloths in the first hours of 18 May 2009, soldiers opened fire on them and killed them. An unspecified number of family members of the three men were killed as well."

"It is my responsibility under the mandate provided to me by the Human Rights Council to seek to clarify all cases brought to my attention. Since I am expected to report on the death of Messers Nadeshan, Pulidevan and Ramesh, as well as of the members of their families, I would be grateful for the cooperation and observations of your Excellency’s Government in particular in relation to the following questions.

    1. Are the allegations summarized above accurate? If not so, please share the information and documents proving their inaccuracy.

    2. What information does your Excellency’s Government have on the family members of Messers Nadeshan, Pulidevan and Ramesh allegedly killed on 18 May 2009?

    3. Please refer to the results of any military, police, judiciary or other inquiry or investigation carried out in relation to the allegations summarized above. "

The Permanent Mission of Sri Lanka to the UN, Geneva had sent the letter to Prof Rajiva Wijesinha, Secretary Ministry of Disaster Management and Human Rights and copied to Gotabhaya Rajapaksa, Secretary Defence, Mohan Peiris PC, Attorney General, Romesh Jaysainghe Secretary, Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Thank you Sarath sir, we appreciate your hard work!

Well, our organization was defeated because of Ruthless Mahinda, GOVT of Sri Lanka, Everyone in the 3forces including Sarath and Gota, and hard working people of Sri Lanka like you!

But Sarath Sir wants to work with us to bring Gota and Shavendra Silva to war crimes court

Also, Our next President Sarath Fonseka Sir appealed to the remnant LTTE cadres to join his campaign to restore democracy in the country. He said that even LTTE leader Velupillai Prabhakaran`s parents were welcome to back him. Because of this, Eezham Tamils like me, TNA and LTTE supports Sarath Sir

For the morons who are shouting thinking they are looking at a real LTTE supporter.

This is a Mahindas' supporter!! Not a real LTTW guy (rofl so many apparently think so. wow we are sooo dumb) get that through your thick skulls

And for those who blame this guy for this. This form of entertainment is called a parody. You guys see tons of American movies doing this and laugh. Why can't you smile at this cause its "local"?? or because it hits you where it hurts.

I think this Idea is quite good (No I do not mean using fake Id'd and such)

This Idea of what would an LTTE supporter want and who would he vote for etc
    And the revelation that
"Hey I'm on the side of an an LTTE supporter now :) after 6 months of the war I have switched sides"

Should come to those idiots who against all odds dream of utopias of zero corruption and infinite democracy by a regime of SF, Ranil Mangala and the JVP.

This election should have been oriented towards the "bada" and developement.
But SF, Mangala, Ranil apparently wants this to be about the war which was finished six months ago. They think they are the patriots now since they have managed fo fish one guy who helped win the war.

If its about the war Are you going vote like an LTTE supporter???

The bottom line is that it will be SF who will be getting the LTTE supporters votes.
he nailed that one right(with that war crimes comment) at the cost of losing support from the patriots in the country.

So the question is Are you a patriot??
If you're a patriot are you dumb, blind, forgetful or anything??

We see too much of that these days neda:)
