    lol...dude....ur being nutty now....:lol::lol:

    and totally ignoring the facts.....ok neways.....do you think the president of the united sates...or the president of Russia...would have no say in who does what in a war.....

    Hitler was a general....why didn't he just go fight the war then...why did he take the time to oust the former chancellor?...coz as a general he cannot make the decisions on where to invade or what to do.....

    generals rule the battlefield....the presidents point out the battlefields....

    what do you think commander-in-chief mean?
    :no::no:

    simple fact dude......

    Hey mister...... Can you point out some of the qualifications that enable MR to give those tactical orders...... Has he served even a single day in the army. read the following quote very carefully and get the idea on how the constitution of Sri Lanka states about this Commander-in-chief and chief of staff. READ THIS CAREFULLY:

    As head of state, the President of Sri Lanka, is nominally the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces. The National Security Council, chaired by the President is the authority charged with formulating and executing defence policy for the nation. The highest level of military headquarters is the Ministry of Defence, since 1978 except for a few rare occasions the President retained the portfolio defence, thus being the Minister of Defence. The ministry and the armed forces have been controlled by the during these periods by either a Minister of State, Deputy Minister for defence, and of recently the Permanent Secretary to the Ministry of Defence. Prior to 1978 the Prime Minister held the portfolio of Minister of Defence and External Affairs, and was supported by a Parliamentary Secretary for Defence and External Affairs.

    Responsibility for the management of the forces is Ministry of Defence, while the planning and execution of combined operations is the responsibility of the Joint Operations Command (JOC). The JOC is headed by the Chief of the Defence Staff who is the most senior officer in the Armed Forces and is an appointment that can be held by an Air Chief Marshal, Admiral, or General. The three services have their own respective professional chiefs: the Commander of the Army, the Commander of the Navy and the Commander of the Air Force, who have much autonomy.

    Sri lanka, Wattala..
    i don't know about the others...coz i am not an expert on sri lankan's financial situation..etc....

    but every president is also known as the commander-in-chief of his/her countries military....thereby they don't just order the men to go bomb Iraq etc etc....they say go to this place...capture it...or bypass it...etc etc...what fonseka does is...tell the troops HOW to catch the place..etc...and the sergeant in the field execute the order as per the situation on the ground....

    did SF go to the front lines with a gun...run with the soldiers?.....no he was closer...in a tent...but still just as far away as the president.....this is true for all military's of the world....

    by saying he gave the order MR is saying he guided the war.....by listening to the options given by ALL three of his generals.....SF was a small cog in the wheel.....set in motion by the president....

    because ultimately the president is liable....hence this war is his victory....

    besides man...why do you need a secretary of defense...but as a mediator between president & defense forces...which include the counter intelligence....

    you ppl seem to have forgotten...SF saw a minor part of the war....the president had to over see not only the military....but also our spies....etc etc....there were so many arms looking out for us...SF just one of the many fingers in one of the many arms...

    and MR was the body that moved it....

    Mr.. dats bull talk.. MR just ordered as other frnd said.. he didnt do da plans.. it was SF and other army heads.. so ur carping..
