All u need is windows 7 [64-BIT]
only that OS Supports Direct X 11

285GTX suppots DirectX 11. according to what u say thn onboard VGA also must show DR. 11 ne.
only fact is company's haven't made games to suport DR 11. when they do 200 series will get maxx performance
