Wikipedia Definition about Wimal Weerawansha
Wimal Weerawansa is the leader of the political party Jathika Nidahas Peramuna (political party formed by few members who were expelled from Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna or JVP. He was entered into politics through the Peoples' Liberation Front (JVP) near 1989. He became the Propaganda Secretary of the Party when it reentered democratic stream in 1995. He became a Colombo Municipal Councilor in 1997. He became a Western Provincial Councilor in 1999 and became a member of Parliament in 2000.
He was unable to undergo a proper education due to his entrance into politics in a young age. Wimal is a good speaker yet he has been criticized for his lack of knowledge about history and literature.
