i have traveled to almost half the world.....that is why i know...how special sri lanka is man....
thee is no country like our own.....we are the only true free people....
currently i am "in" china... on the contrary they even provide free electricity to some factories.. LoL!!!
state run factories yes...what abt the warehouses...and non state factories.....do you know their regulations?
what abt most of the towns....and the non-commercial areas.....
In sri lanka for flat rate consumers (Bussiness, NGO, Org) i think its around Rs10 to 15 per unit. Of course for domestic they charge Rs 30 only at higher consumption levels neda? initially its at low rate i think upto 30 units or so... "UNP" eka saha Chandrikage rajaya chanda/deshapaalana waasi balanne nethiwa Norachchole Coal Power plant ekai, Ihala kothmalei hydropower plant ekai idikaranam me wena kota oya rates thawa aduwela! ewa ithin hari haman nayakayin nethi wunama wena dewal!

tons we can do...and btw cheap nuclear power walata wada thawath godak dewal thiyenawa...linde inna gembo thamai ohoma kiyanne. Wonder why there tons of other countries that don't use nuclear power that has much lower tariffs. Do they get electricity from the Moon?
Solar panels aren't cheap btw, it will be in the near future.
The reason we are spending so much is that we spend tons on oil based power generation. Also eketh godak inefficiencies thiyenawa. But we can't blame a single person for the problem.
And iv bin in china and india, never had a power cut. but I nvr lived for long so can't tell for sure. But India and China has to generate power to service1 billion people, nt 20 million. And they both are under developed in comparison to Sri Lanka in terms of infrastructure...other than in a few cities. So can't compare power outages and say SL is better.
