I've notice Christians always manipulate the bible

It seems that Christians/Catholics can manipulate the bible to say basically whatever they want, to justify the modern culture, or go along with the modern culture. I mean tell me 100 years ago the bible was read the same. Women for example we not created equal in the bible 100 years ago even sooner acually I did a report on this. Now however since society has changed the bible has interpreted women differently to fit in with modern times. If you read the actual passages to the bible, it doesnt seem as if women are equal to men, but of course the preacher of whatever can tell us "what it really means". Not just woman, thats just an example.

The following passage describes how the Hebrew slaves are to be treated.
