How to see 2,000,000 years in the past

    technically this is possible... as the sun we see is the sun which as existing about 8 mins ago.... some of these stars we see are not existing now. some of the explosions in distance stars captured by huge telescope has been happen 1000000s of years ago.

    but I dont think the mechanism in the picture would work. first reason is, the light also subject to change its traveling path under the influence of massive masses. the second reason would be, that the light rays which makes up an image would spread with the distance it travels.

    and theres another thing ;) the maximum speed of a NASA space shuttle is around 17500 mph. one light year is about 5.8 trillion miles. it will take about 38263 years to travel 1 light year. 76526000000years to travel that distance. (up and down!)
