well friends . y is he coming to SL ? to do a lecture on " does god exist or no? " . this is a very good topic to learn what your conscience is asking you when your doing actions towards your god.

Buddhism has a GOD and Muslims too have a GOD. and he coming here to lecture us how your going to understand and increase our belief in god .

now my question is . who is going get affected by this lecture ? Buddhism or islam ? obviously no one is affected but everyone is gained.

seeking knowledge a artifact to every religion let it be from anyone. take the good facts and ignore the bad facts. if you have a problem clarify from him .

ALLMOST EVERYONE IS PEACE with real understanding the existence GOD.

early sri lankans had a strong relationship with indians. if muslims wants to talk about the historical connections with the sri lankan, then we should first talk about the Tamil's connections to SL before anything else. Sri Lanka had a very good buddhist culture. developed them themselves. and hindus. History books says some appearance of Muslim sellers in SL in the time of English, Dutch conquering. If someone wants to talk about Muslim's rights in SL, he should first bring some tamils to the discussion and then give them the nothern part of the SL before talking about any other;s rights.

i did.....i admit i was focused by Muslims hands in the development of sri lanka....but it was called for...

but i did say that sri lankan Tamils Buddhists and Muslims have an equal hand in how sri lanka has progresses.....so we have some right if not equal right to live as we wish in our home....and mother land....

do we come at you saying evict this or that thero or don't allow Thailand monks etc to sri lanka?

so what gives you the right to interfere with our religious practices?

people people people.........when reading this thread its so clear that everyone has a poor understanding in each others religions. we are living together in this awsome country, so y argue for things like this.......if budhist thinks what zakir says is wrong, then they can attend the lecture and question him since there is a Q&A session. and if muslims wana knw more about budhism it would be a great idea to go to places where u can get knwledge about budhism......if not just puttinf threads like this ONLY spread hatred among lankans. so think guyz.....THINK!

and kudos to you for talking about oppression. As far as i know, Muslims in general do not have the right to complain about oppression because they are the first and foremost culprits of the oppression of many other cultures and religions. Starting from the days of Muhammed himself, as described in the satanic verses.

Sri Lanka is a Buddhist country, was and will be. If anything is threatening that fact, we have the right to stand against it. Mind you its in the constitution too.

Muslims have not oppressed a nation to this day...be it India....Greece...etc etc all the countries Muslims have ruled at one time or the other have flourished under their own culture...not under Islamic ones....

but how are we answered Chechnya...Palestine....day to day racist beatings from "high class countries"...etc

we will not oppress.....but we do not take kindly to others interfering in our affairs....

i have nothing against Buddhists or sri lanka...i love both...but i love my religion and freedom of speech more....

the constitution of sri lanka was written by Buddhists for Buddhists....we will respect it unconditionally as long as it doesn't interfere with our religion....

so the gist of it....we do not interfere with you (hence we shall not try to convert you)....don't interfere with us....

like is said bro....even certain members i respected in EK have come out with paranoid thoughts....

he is a world renowned speaker....yet they selfishly only think about themselves....they are just Buddhists by name...not by action....
