Hi friends,

My name is Nishantha Gunasinghe.I am new to this forum.I have been a buddhist for 20 years now but I find it unacceptable to believe and follow buddhism any more.

I am fascinated by the catholic religion and would appreciate if anybody can help me in getting a thourough knowledge.If I see it fits me I will embrace catholism..

If it is the Catholic religion you are fascinated with, then you are defeating the purpose of Christianity. Christianity, like its name suggests is about Christ, more specifically Jesus Christ, His teachings and His work on the cross.

Before you decide to jump into anything, I implore that you watch this video carefully. It is by faith in Jesus Christ and His grace that we are saved, not by attending a Catholic or what not church.

To be a Christian means to believe and love Jesus Christ, as well as to love all others as one loves themselves. Being a Catholic doesn't necessarily mean being Christian. While there are those that truly love Jesus Christ and truly love all others, needles to say there are always some bad apples..

Please go to this forum page, and download the movie The Light of the World. Then open your mind and your heart, pick up a Holy Bible and just read...

If you dont mind can you tell me why you find it unacceptable to believe and follow buddhism anymore?

I meet missionaries from LSD Church(Latter Day Saints) couple of days a month. And I was not really impressed by what they said and there beliefs.
Although they are good friends of mine, I have to say they do not make any sense at all.

But good luck with your journey. I hope you will find the truth you are looking for.

Hmm. I cannot speak on a matter where I was not present. I'm wondering what you were confused about. However, if anyone comes to you and claims to be a Christian but speaks not one word about Jesus Christ or about love and this person keeps on ranting about all others things like becoming a part of this denomination or what not, then beware of wolves in sheep clothing. There is no Christianity without Jesus Christ. There is no Christianity without love. Those last two statements are one in the same. May you have many happy returns.
