After a decade of creating some pretty mind blowing music, enough controversy to drive a madman sane, more drama than an effing 21st century HBO sitcom, plenty of persecution, music biz politics and backstabbing to make Caesar’s massacre look like an act from Sesame Street, with enough tragedy and triumph to last a lifetime…

Guess who’s Celebrating their 10th Birthday this Year?

Sri Lanka's pristine and premier Heavy Metal Band; Stigmata will launch their long anticipated 3rd Album on Saturday the 26th June, 2010 @ The Snow Dome, Excel World.

Yes, finally.

Love or Hate the Band; Stigmata has always stayed true to their music, their artistic integrity and have always placed their fans ahead of the many myths, perks, the game of sex, drugs, fame and what nots, always progressing and improving stylistically and sonically.

The new album is a testament to this growth and the launch will capture the Band in all its unapologetic power, intensity and dexterity. Expect a spectacular launch concert with unparalleled showmanship, brilliant sounds and mesmerizing lights.

To cut a long tale by its proverbial tail; the new album will stun, shock, seduce, awe and captivate listeners. It will take you all on an unforgettable, & rapturous odyssey to a place of evocative beauty, epic textures and unsheltered emotions, bleeding from one style to another, complete with the technical wizardry of ‘SCS’ and the warm, melodic infectiousness of ‘Hollow Dreams’ proving to be a challenging, disturbing, provocative & emotional experience.

Keep a very BIG box of Kleenex with you…

And get ready for one majestic, monumental, multiple, mental orgasm!

So What’s All this Buzz & Fuss About?

Emerging in an industry shadowed by pretentiousness and feigned artistry Stigmata carved a platform for Original Sri Lankan Hard Rock & Heavy Metal; all forms extreme and subtle in early 2000.

The Band organized and performed concerts wherever they could throughout the island, diversifying their repertoire and sometimes performing 50-60 songs a night. Stigmata significantly introduced the genre's greatest legends to the Sri Lankan audience, music by Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden, Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple, Metallica, Megadeth to the cutting edge underground artistes of the time while interlacing their original compositions into the repertoire - slowly captivating and seducing the audiences with their unique sound and authentic style.

In August 2003 Stigmata launched 'Hollow Dreams' the country's and the Band's debut Heavy Metal release to a full house at the Taj Samudra... an album that was meticulously carved by 5 school boys and its relevance and epic quality still reverberates through time's labyrinthine passageways even today. ‘Hollow Dreams’ set the tone, shaped the palette and built the foundation stone for every aspiring Metal & Hard Rock Band that followed in the wake of that said release.

In February 2006 Stigmata launched ‘Silent Chaos Serpentine’ the sinister opus that garnered them wide critical acclaim & a strong following in the United States, Indonesia, Australia, United Kingdom, Maldives, Malaysia, Canada, India, United Arab Emirates, Turkey, Italy, Qatar, Bangladesh, Colombia, France, Netherlands, Chile, Russia, Greece & Mexico.

‘Silent Chaos Serpentine’ has been reviewed in many countries around the globe receiving rave reviews on US metal sites www.tmetal.com & www.ultimate-guitar.com, Australia’s top metal site www.themetalforge.com being on the site’s 50 Most Popular Album Reviews of All Time for over 3 years and hit no.9 till the poll was taken out in April 2010.

Stigmata pried the doors of opportunity wide open for international concerts by being the first local Metal Band to headline festivals overseas; the Rockstorm Festival 2006 in Maldives, The SAARC Band Festival 2007 in New Delhi India, and the Southern Ultimate Explosion in 2009.

Stigmata were featured exclusively on legendary travel icon Ian Wright’s (Globe Trekkers, Lonely Planet, America the Wright Way) new travel series “Out of Bounds” on the Discovery Channel being interviewed and asked to perform ‘Andura’ and ‘A Dead Rose Wails for Light’ live for Mr.Wright & his Crew.

Stigmata’s Official Myspace (http://myspace.com/stigmatasrilanka) has nearly acquired 75 Thousand hits and with its Official Fanpage, Group and other miscellaneous groups on Facebook having acquired nearly 10 Thousand Fans continue to grow each day with news of the New Album spreading and clawing its way to every corner of the earth.

"Psalms of Conscious Martyrdom" will be released June 26th 2010
