What's best for ADSL modem or Router for Slt Home package?

I don't know what's the different between ADSL Modem and Router. Can you tell me what's best for ADSL modem or Router for Slt Home package?
I have one PC and also i want connect one PC using ADSL. I often download " torrent" files (films).

I use "Windows7"

Teleshop selling "Modems and Routers" are Good?
Which devise can do "port-forwarding"?

Get a Router.
So far the best I've worked with are 3Com Officeconnect range routers (with or without WIFI) and Belkin Routers.
Both are absolute workhorses. Works without any trouble for years.

modems are controlled by the OS while Routers are controlled by themselves. So Routers give better performance.
The speed is totally dependent on the package you get. Neither modem nor Router will change the speed.

if ur using a single pc best is a usb modem... coz no need port-forwarding for torrents..


if ur using multiple computers then a router.. but u need to port forward for torrent downloads..
